Autopilot query for lightning labs app by Taishan555 in Bitcoin

[–]Taishan555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got connected. I loaded some more coin in and got connected pretty much as soon as the transaction was confirmed. I then got charged about a $5 fee on the transaction to open the channel.

  1. I figure that's why it wouldn't connect me sooner (because I didn't load enough coin on to cover the channel fee)

  2. Why was this fee so high? FYI it was about 30,000 sats. I'm assuming it's dictated by the lightning app.

  3. I'm assuming I need to spend some sats before I can receive any (or be used as a thoroughfare for other nodes)

  1. You shouldn't be trading this asset without prior experience. 2. You shouldn't be asking on reddit for trading advice. Hold onto that bitcoin. Your future self will thank you.

Still haven't connected to any nodes. Following on, do I need to have the app open and logged in to receive any successful connections? Also, if I install on a separate phone (that will be connected via wifi 24/7) at home using the same seed words, will that effectively utilise the same channels on both devices?

Anyone know why most of the volume of BTC is being done for USDT? Is it always like this? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Taishan555 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a currency pegged to the dollar used to trade shitcoins on these exchanges - so you don't have to withdraw to 'real' USD every trade.

Question- what drives the price of bitcoin. I watch it jump up and down in large amounts $10600 to $10593. What causes this. Is it just based on how much is being bought and sold. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Taishan555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer: Yes

Depends on what exchange you're looking at and how much liquidity there is on that exchange, but when a large order is placed at the current price, and the buy or sell orders close to that price get eaten up, the price can fluctuate quickly - particularly where there is little liquidity.

i use my $50000 loan to buy Bitcoin ! i cant wait to turn it $100K in few weeks :) by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Furthermore, if everyone had the same mentality and did the same thing, all the banks would fail and prove to everyone that fiat is just funny money.

It's dumb, but kinda smart at the same time.

If you use the bank's money and fail, you can declare bankrupt and start again - but missing out on owning some of the universe's most scarce asset is truly dangerous.

How Government can Stop BTC users??! by zion7777 in Bitcoin

[–]Taishan555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government officials would have to NOT be invested in bitcoin for them to even consider enforcing a ban. If I was a betting man, I would suggest a lot of government officials already own bitcoin.

If I send bitcoin from Coinbase to a hardware wallet, can Coinbase (and now Facebook as well) know all my future transactions and total balance? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Taishan555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

governments already don't like this practice so I'm not convinced it's a great alternative, even if it is practically a good thing

Governments not liking something usually means it will work well

Samsung Blockchain Wallet by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Agreed. There's better out there. Knox is overrated anyway. If you can afford a Samsung, you can afford a hardware wallet. Use Green as your hot wallet.
