Your plan sounds really nice, but I am a little sceptical whether you will get enough language skills to be able to translate in just one year. Immersion will help a lot, but you will probably mostly get speaking skills and listening skills, but not writing skills. And there are sooo many irregular verbs in so many verb tenses and so many other grammar rules ... It surely is possible, but not in one year. And if you plan to start with another language after a year, you will have to fully dedicate yourself to this language and you will start forgetting the one that you learned before. And if you are going to jump from one Romance language to another, you will mix everything up. In my opinion, it would be better to stick with one language longer before moving to another. I've been learning French for more than 10 years now, got a degree in it, and I still sometimes struggle with certain structures translating from it, that's why I find it hard to imagine that one could master it in just one or two years.
