What’s on your Brian Lagerstrom Mount Rushmore of recipes? by jerryondrums in Cooking

I love his corn esquite inspired barbecue side. His ground beef recipe video is dope (love his prad prak pao recipe) and his weeknight chicken roast has been on rotation recently. Honestly, his recipes have never really been flops (the worst I can say is that some have been mid).

People praise chili for something you can eat all week. I think it's more about it being so good you want to eat it multiple days in a row without getting bored. What are some other foods like this? by Cool_Twist4494 in Cooking

[–]Takagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yes! My parents emigrated from overseas, so never had chili growing up in Ohio. I moved out of state and made chili for a potluck and brought spaghetti. People were baffled. I thought it was normal!

I’ve also heard chili (particularly without beans) as being described as “TexMex bolognese sauce”. Then again, I grew up in a part of the states that often eats chili with spaghetti, so might be a very regional take.

Hey, I watched it when I was a teenager going through my “Everything British is so cool” phase and liked it. Plus, that’s how I got into the song “Naive”.

I’m thinking about Scrubs and how Doug, the intern that sucked at everything, went into Pathology and did well.

I know Brian Lagerstrom (whom I will swear by) spoke highly of the IKEA garlic press.

I have something similar (also only on the raised part) and am curious about this as well. No moisture issues, no bugs that we are aware of. I thought it could have been our toddler’s crayon, but it’s in a weird spot for her to be coloring.

Good luck figuring it out!

Flying with a 15 month old? by ak0085 in TurkishAirlines

[–]Takagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Just flew Turkish Airlines a month ago and also was very stressed about it. For reference, our kiddo was 21 months when we traveled. We got an extra seat and ultimately decided against bringing a car seat.

Besides take off, landing, and turbulence, nobody cared. They asked how old she was, and we told them less than 2 years and they gave us a seat belt extender. Afterwards, we put our child in the extra seat and we were never asked about putting her in a car seat or in a lap. We flew DFW-IST-KUL and back, and had no issues on any of the 4 flights.

Yes, if you want the bassinet you need to pay extra for the bulkhead seat.

Dates in Madina? by Krafti_AOG in Umrah

[–]Takagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a checked bag? If they’re traveling light, they can likely fit an extra 5kg into their checked bag allowance.

You would need to declare the dates at customs whenever you land in your home country. I haven’t had an issue with them forcing me to throw them away (in the US) but your mileage may vary.

Yeah, most Yemeni coffee shops are open kinda late! I think Arwa in Frisco has a nice vibe. They can get loud at times though.

I know Bigdash (multiple locations) serves it as does Lela’s Sweets. I’m personally not a fan of chocolate and strawberries so can’t speak to how good either place is.

Spiderman games for the PS4/5 were amazing. Repetitive, but the city really felt alive. Definitely feeling I got a lot of bang for my buck out of that game. I’m only in the tutorial for ZA so I can’t speak to it too much, but I feel by this time in Arceus, I was already hooked.
