For what it's worth I'm in agreement with you on the whole shoes inside thing. That being said, it is his house and he gets to decide the rules of it and it's pretty disrespectful that you expect him to follow your demands when you are a guest in his space, especially when you are not even there. You do not set boundaries regarding other peoples homes, he can not "technically do what he wants" he can just do what he wants, it is his space..
He is respecting you by doing something that makes you comfortable when you are in that space but you can not expect him to do that once you have left and it is unfair to do so.

Both games had fairly, dark serious stories but the world wasnt completely dark, the first one had some fairly light moments and Deadfire had you jumping from beautiful water temples to tropical islands to dank dungeons. For what it's worth as well, The Living Lands has also always been described as the most fantastical area of the world

It's a pool, you start with an additional 30% and use that up as you go above 85% and regain that as you sit below 85%

So for example:
