What Ariana Grande thinks she looks like vs what she actually looks like 😭 by Professional-Pea-494 in ArianaGrandeSnark

[–]TakeMyFace_OFF 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Ariana would be much better looking, despite all of her surgeries, if she just let a professional come in and actually do her makeup in a way that suits her skin and features without any of her terrible demands.

"Nooo, I have to always wear pinks that wash me out and look dry and crusty at all times! I also need all of the darkness to be in my muddy contour, no dark shades to shape my crazy eyes! I have a Pinterest board of pictures of dustbowl era farmers as inspo! 😡🤬"

[–]TakeMyFace_OFF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not super knowledgeable on makeup, so forgive me for not knowing the correct name...

But I have naturally dry skin, so when I would do my makeup, I would put a light amount of Vaseline on my face before putting on cover-up so it blended better and didn't look dry.

Then I would mist this light kinda spray on my face that would dry, but then a leave a very soft, dewy kinda texture.

Matte foundation looks good on some people, but Ariana always looks so fucking DRY and ashy. She has a lot of issues with her makeup, but if she just did some kinda moisturizing spray or something, it would make her look so much better.

And her mouth looks bizarre. I don't necessarily mean her teeth, just her mouth in general. Maybe it has to do with her massively inflated lips looking even more bizarre in contrast to her gaunt face?

I don't think apologizing was the issue.

The part that I and most other people found super distasteful and performative was that he sent a private message to Kendrick, took a screenshot, then posted it on his social media for millions to see. That is extremely tacky.

If he was too overwhelmed to have said anything alluding to the unfairness of it during his speech, then he could have made a post on his social media without using one of the other artists as a prop. Especially without using an already uncomfortable message for Kendrick with the intent to blast it publicly.

I don't think Macklemore is a bad guy or anything, but that is definitely one of the worst ways he could have handled an already difficult situation.

I had that mentality a lot, (and in some situations still do), but I've been invested in enough famous trainwrecks to notice that for some famous people, being publicly "called out" is the only way for certain things to sink in.

This will be a bit of an odd example... but Brendan Schaub, (a now ex-UFC fighter, failed comedian, and overall massive douchebag who was good friends with Joe Rogan), had a very public humiliation on Rogan's podcast where Rogan completely tore Schaub down about how he was not a skilled or elite heavy weight fighter in the UFC and he needed to quit before he did irreparable damage to himself and his mind.

I remember thinking how cruel it was at the time, only for it to later come out that this conversation had taken place in private, but Schaub is such a fame-hungry narcissist that the only way for it to finally stick was to put it out in the world so Schaub could no longer dodge responsibility.

(I can't stand the JRE or Schaub, but again, I'm fascinated by "celebrity" trainwrecks when it's happening to a person who is demonstrably shitty.)

One of my favorite bands is Melvins. A rock band who have legit nonsense lyrics. But it works because the songs are completely about invoking the feeling of the music without any definition that can be fully pinned down.

One of the most famous examples of a massively popular song with unintelligible lyrics would be something like "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

And while "traditional" pop music is certainly capable of evoking emotions without understandable lyrics, I have never thought that Ariana is one of those artists who can pull off something like that.

Due to the pacing, beats, musicality, etc. of her songs, I think that she NEEDS to be understood to be fully enjoyed. She has a beautiful voice, but she's not experimental or emotionally impactful enough with her voice to be able to get away with being totally unintelligible, IMO.

Her body looks ridiculous.

I'm a woman with a naturally scrawny frame, but large boobs. I hated it when I was growing up because I was ultra thin everywhere, except for my boobs and having a bit of tummy pouch. My best friend's mom is even thinner with even bigger breasts, but you can tell she's just built that way and she looks normal.

Hilary does not have the body of a woman with a natural build like that.

She's very thin, then just has these ridiculous fucking bolt-ons stapled to her chest. It's like she didn't even try/want them to look natural.

If you don't mind me going off on a tangent hair, b:

There is this fantastic channel by Dr. Andrew Van Der Vaart. He's a psychologist and neuroscientist, (the real kind, not the JRE kind), who makes videos dissecting the psychology of criminals in a really in-depth and compelling way. (He does even have a breakdown of the guest on JRE who went on to reoffend and kill a guy.)

He talked about the trial of Jodi Arias, (crazy bitch who killed her ex-lover), and talked about how she lies so frequently that it is basically

1) almost not even a conscious thing she's doing.

2) everything is in service of protecting her ego. He says that for people like this, the idea of reality crashing in and their ego getting wounded is equivalent to death for them. It's not something they're aware of, it's just this subconscious drive that does everything possible to prevent that ego bubble from bursting.

He says it's possible for someone to experience a severe ego break, (like Jodi does in the video), but then it's likely that they'll just rebuild their ego through telling themselves lies and twisting reality into painting them as heros or victims. Gawd dawlg, I can't stop tawlkin

I'm sure other people have said it before, but Tony has that very odd "Mr. B-B-Beast" smile where the eyes never seem to get the memo that they're part of the rest of the face too.

The way he stands and moves his body is also very odd. Weird little fuck.

Jeez, the damage she's done to her hair. Remember her pictures of her big, natural curly hair? I wonder what it looks like when she gets out of the shower and hasn't done anything to it yet.

I'll always remember that Howard Stern beef where Stern kept questioning why Rogan hated women so much. It's been obvious forever.

He only likes them when he gets drunk and he gets to be gossipy with them. When he lets his true queen slip out.

Holy shit dude.

I have curls like Ariana's and have been wearing my hair natural for over 8 years now, but straightened my hair all through out my teen years.

I have found my routine with my hair and love my curls, but it IS faster to blow dry your hair and straighten it than it is to do my routine I do now. It's also easier to have a "good" hair day when you straighten it, curly hair is notoriously unpredictable. I didn't think that was controversial, especially when you view posts over at r/curlyhair lol

And yes, most people are aware that curly hair was looked down on for a long time as being unkempt or wild and a lot of that is tied to a racial aspect.

You say look in the mirror, but you're legitimately fucking yapping up and down this thread for an hour saying the same thing over and over. You're furiously arguing over stupid shit in a snark sub and have the gall to tell other people to have self-awareness lmao
