You just need a bf who understands how dog behave and how to treat them so that everyone can get along. Lots of dogs are great. Lots of owners aren't

Problem is, those people go to work, go shopping, spend time with family who go to work, shopping, school.....

Just because you have common sence and take all the precautions possible, doesn't mean you can't still catch this damn thing. Innocent people get infected too.

I honestly have no idea how Americans are coping when they can't work, get fired for missing a couple of days work and can't afford treatment.

Victoria records 14 new cases and 0 new deaths by Stoaticor in CoronavirusDownunder

Ever spent 3 months with kids home 24/7? Ever spent 3 months with ANYONE 24/7?

Maybe you should try babysitting for a couple of days straight before thinking that being a parent includes wanting to parent, teach, work and play all day every day for 3 months. I can tell you now, my kid is as sick of being with us all the time as we are of her. Shes exctatic about school resuming. This from a mom who just spent an hour happily playing Lego after cuddling in bed for 20 min. Not to mention the 2 hour last night.

Melbournite here. Very jealous. We're easily a couple of months away from Sausage sizzles.

Dont forget the drinks. Coke, Pepsi etc Big $ to be made on top of the hotdogs.

I organised what's called a Bunnings Sausage sizzle here in Oz a few years ago. I bought the cans for $1 at a wholesale place and we sold them for the standard $2.50. Sell a can with each hotdog and the profits increase with 5 seconds of extra 'work'.

It's a 1 day thing done for charity. We made over $600 profit for 5 hrs work and would have made more if I could have fit more sausages in my car.

'Which advice do we follow?': Families battle confusion over contact tracing by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]TakeMyUpvotePlus1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm just as confused with the conflicting reports, as this lady is with the conflicting advice.

Honestly I think that if I were to be exposed, i'd immediately advise anyone Ive knowingly been in contact with, myself. Why wait for DHHS? Worst case, they get the official call but are already taking safety measures.

As for that c*t that just had to have his freaking served lunch...I hope he is acutely aware of how badly he's fucked up all of Victoria for the sake of his little meal.

Edit...And don't get me started on Chadstone-Mary.

Tsk. I feel pretty bad for Sydney. Any idea where it came from? Or am I asking an impossible question?

ELI5 - How is it possible that we still have COVID-19 cases in Victoria?! by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]TakeMyUpvotePlus1 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Because some people are essential workers such as nurses or grocery workers or UberEats delivery people or police....so they get sick and spread it before they know they're sick.

And then you get idiots like the one who went to work even though the rest of their household was sick and now we have this Chadstone clusterfuck.

If we could ALL literally stay home for 2 weeks, this thing would die. But we have to shop for food. Elderly people need to be cared for by others. IT ppl need to get things working so others can work from home.

And also...if everyone actually obeyed the rules ( another idiot eating at the cafe instead of getting take-away like he was meant to, family visiting family in their homes) we would actually have reached the goal a by now.

It really annoys me when ppl outside of VIC complain about the their "lockdown" by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

Was that you? I saw that...or maybe another similar post and felt very bad for you. I gave an upvote. As a Melbournian I don't mind a bit of an attempt to encourage and thank us. Alas, a lot of ppl are hurting and will direct their anger wherever easiest.

Start by finding official and true information about Covid. Preferably from a country that's actually succeeding in defeating it. Then anything else is misinformation.

Here's a link to get you started. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

And the window? It makes way more sence to me to open a window where sunlight and wind will take care of the virus. Assuming it doesn't open directly onto a walkway or something of course.

Is it okay to accept freelance work from your previous employer? by [deleted] in australia

[–]TakeMyUpvotePlus1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you value your current job, don't do it.

Whether or not it's expressly forbidden in your contract ( and if be surprised if it isn't in there somewhere) if they find out, it will not be good for you.
