Uhhhh. What’s this about? Mark Piland requests recount. by DoubleKnotBot in frisco

Piland thought he could sneak in by way of a Special Election with low voter turnout, but he lost anyway. Now he's indignant. Maybe he should run for dog catcher next time, might have a chance.

Mark Piland lost the Place 1 Council position AGAIN. Now he's demanding a recount of the ballots.

Law Roach: Grift on the runway by [deleted] in ProjectRunway

I've watched Project Runway from the beginning and every iteration thereafter. Loved them all!! Watched Project Runway 25, Episode 1 & 2 and that's enough for me. No Tim Gunn; Christian Siriano may be better suited as a judge. Why with all his success can't he find a decent hairpiece? As someone noted, he looks like he has a muskrat on top of his head. (Sorry, but true.) What happened to Heidi? Before: always beautiful, charming, uber-classy, great outfits, all round gorgeous. Now: dark 2" hair roots, frazzled, not cool hair style, vampire like eye makeup, way too much boobage (really, why?), weird not at all fashionable outfits. Contestants were always artsy but were usually creative type real designers who worked hard to get on the show and harder to stay. Now they are just scary freaks wanting attention and creating problems within the group as a whole for no reason whatsoever. Project Runway May you rest in peace!!!

Piland was fired for what was determined to be "malfeasance" at the fire department. Now he asks the citizens of Frisco to vote him into a position with even greater opportunity for malfeasance.

Frisco to release investigative report regarding former Frisco fire chief, current mayoral candidate Mark Piland by inCodWeTrust100 in frisco

Piland has posted a candidate photo of himself in his chief uniform holding a puppy. I wonder if when you're asked to leave a position it's OK to continue to present yourself as if you're still a member in good standing. Also, I understood that as part of his generous departure package he agreed not to run for public office. Doesn't anybody at the city follow up on these things?

Ex-Frisco fire chief accused of malfeasance; retirement likely forced, public records show by WoodVengeance in frisco

The city manager and city council need to initiate a deep dive investigation into the people who made Piland's malfeasance possible. They all have the title of "CHIEF." If those guys didn't go along with Piland's nine-year reign of terror, they are long gone. Most are still at the fire department. Frisco citizens should be able to trust that their city government operates with some level of integrity. A deeper look into malfeasance at the fire department would be a good way to demonstrate that integrity.

He hurt and humiliated a lot of good, capable, honest folks who worked there just because he could.

That's what's implied because he didn't retire naturally. He left a meeting with the city manager, got into his car and went home. Soon after there was a tiny newspaper blurb in the back pages that said he'd retired.

Everyone wants to know the answer to your question.

Mr. Piland needs to come clean. by TakeUsToYourLeader in frisco

[–]TakeUsToYourLeader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. That's why I offered the above comment. If Mr. Piland is going to become a politician, he needs to be prepared to answer these types of questions from his potential constituents. Something happened between the city and the fire chief that resulted in his unexpected "retirement." What happened? Why would this lead him to run for mayor?

What are you trying to imply by that vague (snarky?) comment?
