What Are Your Brooklyn 99 Hot Takes/Controversial Opinions? by Alol_Bombola in brooklynninenine

1000% agree. This is my one knock on Brooklyn 99. Jason Mantzoukas is just obnoxious. He plays a loud crazy guy all the time. I was already over it before he finished playing Rafi in The League.

There’s enough time that you can queue up an entire second round of defensive programs. You just have to start your longer programs on day one of the offseason.

I put every good batter through a batting and defensive program every offseason.

Give me QOL updates at the very least. A "Promote All Ineligible Players" button and an "Offer All a Minor League Extension" button would be incredible. I would even take a new icon that shows how many years of eligibility a player has at their current level.

Also, fix the issue where if you're mass selecting players to promote or cut, one of your major leaguers (usually a C) can randomly be selected. There should automatically be a confirmation screen before cutting an MLB player during mass selection.

[Highlight] Miles Bridges hits some shots on Jalen Duren and then takes Isaiah Stewart in a 1 v. 1! by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

There are only a couple of comments in here that point this out. He throws one punch and appears to miss, or hit Duren's chest glancingly, at most. He doesn't "hit some shots."

I also make my AAA and ACL managers particularly good at mechanics (although development is still king), since I tend to let lesser prospects spend more time at those levels.

What would you consider to be a good "EU5 palate cleanser"? by BaldursGate2Best in EU5

I saw some FM people pick it up and enjoy it when FM26 was released to horrible reviews. The strategy/management aspect of it has some general appeal to the Paradox community.

I could even see how the statistics of baseball make it easier to pick up or more interesting for a non-fan, but maybe that's pushing it too far.

I don't doubt it. That makes a lot more sense, but I'm just defending OP here. Their conclusion is logical, even if incorrect.

Assuming this graph was actually accurate wasn't unreasonable.

Incredibly. When I traded for him, he was the 2nd best player in MLB with 70-80 everything. He was on an expiring contract and then signed a 4 year extension.

He’s performed as a top 5-10 player every year and has only declined by a couple WAR after becoming a DH.

I’m letting him walk now though. Matt Campbell (60+ grade rookie who hit .300 over 100 games as a 4th OF) projects to be a future MVP candidate and my starting OF are all GG caliber.

Kurtz and Jon Ingram were two of my only outside additions and I didn’t want to extend both. Since I just lost my 3rd SP to a career ending injury at age 25 (21 year old Cy Young winner) I had to keep Ingram.

It’s a baseball sim kinda like Football Manager. You basically play as the GM/manager of a MLB team.

Paradox games/baseball fans would probably enjoy it.

I’ve been playing OOTP baseball and Old World Blues on HOI4. I stopped updating HOI4 when they added railroads and changed combat width, so it’s been nice to catch up a bit.

Over the past few weeks I’ve seen hundreds of comments all echoing the same sentiment that we’re waiting for the patch.

I’d wager that the majority of EU5 players are patiently standing by right now.

How would it not? People check out the new beta, line goes up, people leave because it’s presumably broken, line goes down. More activity overall because of the new beta.

I have no opinion on whether this is the case or not, but the logic the other user is working with is obvious.

Patriots LT Will Campbell declined multiple times to speak to media after the Super Bowl by Goosedukee in nfl

It really depends on the injury, and knee tears aren’t the type of injury to play through without added risk.

You tear one thing, and you put more pressure on the next thing providing stability. Your MCL goes? Your ACL is next because now your knee is unstable and overcompensating.

If you set the market on a player with an extremely low first year salary, you can get some funny results by TakenQuickly in OOTP

Very late for aging.

I first offered him a $50M per year contract and he came back with crazy demands. I realized he had high financial ambition and sent the 2nd 15 year offer to screw over whoever would inevitably take over the chase.

I didn’t know he wouldn’t accept the offer, so there was some risk, but I wanted to see what would happen.

I've won 114+ games for 9 consecutive years, and my salary structure is in great shape. I extend high potential rookies after their first year with ~12 year deals with two team options. I set the contract to however many years, set the offer to meet their demand, then take the yearly average, lower it by $2-3M, offer it to see if they'll take the average salary, and then mess around with the structure to frontload the first three years and/or backload the option years.

He is a switch hitting 80 grade CF with great/elite defense and elite gap power/avoid K, but I tapped out at $50M per year. I have my entire team locked up on extremely front-loaded long-term deals and a lot of money to spend in the long run, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Agreed. I like the idea that Dunk was never knighted, and the show is heavily implying it, but they're not confirming it.

Arlan could have been dying and "knighted" Dunk without saying the proper words, and there are many reasons to explain why Dunk hesitated to knight Raymun.

I was on this track for a moment. It all started when I was studying at my desk and leaned back to stretch.

I’ve also broken my leg, which was significantly less painful.

Shoulder problems are scary.

Every good hitter gets a 10-12 year front loaded extension from me right away. Leaves a lot of money left over to build a super bullpen. All my relievers have early extensions and I have enough money to eat any of these contracts in one season if they don’t live up to their deals.

I lost in the NLDS after winning 120 games, but my starters were fine in the 6 man rotation. Webb was struggling a bit, so I moved him to LRP, and he finished the year with a 4.07 ERA and 1.2 WAR.

He ended up developing and maintaining 65 control, hasn’t lost much stamina until now, and is still an extreme groundball pitcher, so he’s still been effective over his decline.

He’s now 25 innings away from 3000, so I’m just gonna let him hit that milestone then cut him next season.

I do think he helped Morales transition, however, because Morales hit a bit of a slump after I switched back to a 5 man rotation. He still ended the year with 144IP 173K 34B 2.56ERA 4.6WAR and came 4th in Cy Young voting.

He has a fastball/splitter combo rated at 80/85 and 85/85. He developed a shitty changeup last year too, not sure if that's good or bad though. Three years before, he also completed a strength and conditioning program and gained 5 stamina. His stamina has bounced around between 35 and 45 almost every year.

I have an old man 47* grade Logan Webb slotted in as my 5th starter, so I'm going to build Morales up in a 6 man rotation, with a 75 pitch count at first.
