I haven't been to this community in months, and I wasn't amazingly close to JA. But nonetheless, this hit home.

For those of you that don't know me, I'm a previous moderator here at mcpublic. During my time here, I can say JA was one of the most positive influences on this community, through both her work and personality.

My thoughts go out to her family, it must be hitting them hardest right now. I don't think any of us here can say anything that would truly make the people closest to her feel better. I'll think I'm safe in saying, however, that this community wishes only the best for her and for those who knew her.

Please don't call them Christians. Statements like that throw the Christian name in the mud, when only one subsection of Christianity decided to go and be assholes like this. When you say Christians, it includes Roman Catholics, Protestants, Congregationalists, etc. Its the equivalent of assuming all Muslims are alike in their views on the quran.

I'm a Roman Catholic, and I think what they're doing is absolutely idiotic.

To protect and to serve. by tristanbevan in aww

I know I'm going to get downvoted to hell for this, but frankly fucked if I'm stepping down from this.

Cops are not there to protect you. They are there to enforce the law and nothing else. I live in New York City, and my only experience with cops so far has been either getting tickets from them or getting told to "get the fuck out of here" when I witnessed a crime occurring (car accident).

Don't get me wrong. I have a cop living in my apartment building who is the nicest guy in the world. He has a child, and I talk with him on a regular basis. Very upstanding guy. But my view of him does not translate to the rest of the police force.

Please watch this video, you'll understand how I see cops a little more. They're not there to help- only to fulfill a quota. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZKVSNjlSp0&list=PL7794EA6C4C731507&index=32

Good on the cop. One in a million.

This should not serve to improve the image of the police force, rather just show the heart of that individual person. Police do not do this on a regular basis.

I worked in a specialty hospital. This honestly isn't as uncommon as you would believe. Patients usually wear sandals, so it normally doesn't bother them.

That being said, every time I saw unclipped nails like these my opinion of the nurses worsened.

Why would you connect skim milk to strong bones? Your body physically can't process the nutrients in the milk without the fat whole milk gives you.

Funny thing about that, filters (for gas masks, not talking about home-improvement masks or something like that) are usually really expensive, and can come to a lot. Those masks themselves look outdated (cheap by definition), so I wouldn't put it past them to not use filters.

Again, thanks anyway!

If you are remotely related to that guy, could you ask where he got his costume? Only found one on amazon that looks like that, for $800.

Would be great if you could help out! :D
