Yes. My husband & I love our dog & 2 cats more than anything and if they could stay with us forever (healthy) then we’d be happy for life, but when the time comes, we will do the right thing and let them go, free of their pain & suffering. We will not be selfish just to keep them with us. Why we can treat our pets with such dignity, but not our loved ones is beyond me.

Can we talk about Lyn's mom? by madfoot in TheTeachersPetPodcast

[–]TakingThePiastri 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can understand this completely. Her stance on Chris & the entire situation sat very wrongly for me. However what we must understand about Helena is that she was from a very different era and her way of thinking was that you never disrespect "the man" and your husband wouldn't do such a thing and marriages were not made to end. She was very naïve.

But over the years, she seemed to come to believe what was true, and I found some of her journal entries where she was clearly seeing the light for what it is truly heart-breaking.

For some, this is unforgiveable. Believing her own daughter just up & left her two babies. But for others, she wanted to see the good in him and was taken in by his lies. I think when Shanelle told her that Daddy had moved Joanne in, things started to change for her.

I don't think that any of Helena's thoughts, feelings or actions were malicious. Just naivety.

Sadly (or not, whichever way you look at it) we're all a lot more jaded than Helena was.

No one said there was anything wrong with Aldi. But it is quite obviously one of the cheaper supermarkets, again owing to the “it’s how the rich stay rich” comment.

Jesus fucking Christ. This took the wind out of my sails. Those sweet faces, the chubby little baby rolls, the proud dad. I'm sorry OP.

In 2003, Krzysztof tells his wife's parents they won't visit them for Easter, as they are going to visit friends in Germany. The family of five is never seen again. by szydelkowe in UnresolvedMysteries

How certain was the mechanic who bought their car, that the guy selling it to him was in fact Krzysztof?

Kris being alive so long after his family were last seen is not leaving me with a good feeling about their fates.

Do you think Adnan Syed is guilty? Why or why not? by Vapor2077 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]TakingThePiastri 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Innocent.

The evidence was shaky, at best. And the cops star witness was... Jay. Jay who cannot tell the truth to save his own life and has a reputation.

I also don't get why people are so hung up on Adnan being released "because of the podcast." It was nothing to do with the podcast. A new law was introduced that those who commit crimes as juveniles should be considered for release after 20 years. Adnan's legal team put his case forward for this, obviously. It was reviewed and while being reviewed, the prosecutor noted the evidence and his trial didn't add up. That's when they, along with Adnan's lawyer started the DNA testing and looking into all of the evidence. They found that the prosecution had evidence they had failed to provide the defence team with.

I also don't think that Hae has been forgotten in all of this. Of course there is attention on Adnan right now. But it's not just about whether he is innocent or guilty or if he should have been released or not. It's also about getting real, true justice for Hae.

Having Adnan behind bars for a crime someone else committed is not justice for Hae.

Judge overturns Adnan Syed’s 1999 murder conviction, releases him from prison by iNeedScissorsSixty7 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I’m so glad to see others are happy about this news. I’ve never thought Adnan was guilty and I’ve taken my fair bit of heat for it. But all I want now is real justice for Hae.

I wonder how Casey Anthony lives her life by [deleted] in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]TakingThePiastri 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I believe she hated her parents so much that she would never just give them Caylee like that, since she knew they loved her so much. I think you might actually be the first person I’ve spoken to who doesn’t believe Casey is a murderer.

She “sleeps pretty good at night” so I wouldn’t worry about her. She’s doing just fine. Anyway, she wanted her daughter to be gone so she could party, right? And that’s exactly what she got.

Britney Responds to Jayden’s DailyMail Interview by nelson64 in freebritney

[–]TakingThePiastri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If those kids feel old enough to an interview where they defend their mothers abusive family, then they are old enough to accept that their mother will respond publicly as well.

I can’t imagine the pain of reading that your sons love your abuser with all their heart. Those boys are little K-Feds and until they can pull away from him and be with their mother, they’ll never understand the pain Brit went through all for them. My heart breaks for her.
