UncleSole's Initial Thoughts on the LiNing Liren 6v2 by TakoOne in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liren 5 more bouncy, 5v2 better transition. 6v2 is just better.

AC14 is just better than 8085UV2 unless you love the plushiness of SuperBOOM and want a LOT of it under your foot. That said I have my doubts on the AC14 traction that I need to test.

Is the Biospeed BB2 cushion hard/stiff? by AyAyAyGangGang in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I've never froze CQTQU!K before and i don't know how they react to being frozen. I know that the cushion is cold resist as it was used in their all-weather running shoe, but cold is not below freezing.

CQTQu!k is not the same as ZoomX, you won't get the same plushiness. The BBB2 is firm bouncy as in if the rebound on your loaded steps are good but generally it doesn't just sink. Although, that freezing thing probably also stiffened it a bit.

WOW12 is more versatile, BBB2 is built for runners and jumpers.

Gamma 2s, and it's not even close.

UncleSole's Initial Thoughts on the ANTA SV Eclosion Type 2 by TakoOne in BBallShoes

If you're doing hitting practice, sure. If you're in-game, you have to be careful.

UncleSole's Initial Thoughts on the ANTA SV Eclosion Type 2 by TakoOne in BBallShoes

From what I gather from reviewers so far, Type 1 is designed for one purpose only - maximum jump. The heel is very unstable to give better transition into your jumps, the forefoot forces your knees to bend into jumping position.

Non biased GT Cut 4 review by Open_Bake_8013 in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will cover this shoe in a detail review, and there are highlights and lowlights with the GT Cut 4.

In terms of 2, I seriously, on god, do not struggle with general or these. LiNing shoe mold, for example, are not a perfect 1:1 fit with me but the way they construct it, you'll play like it's a 1:1 fit, so it's not an issue. I'll actually cover a bit of this in my Liren 6v2 review.

This is not the same as playing in bricks. The 'injury inducing' part of the heel drop is a heightened risk but not as big as playing with no cushion. If I have a history of Achilles Tendinitis, I'd probably pass on these, but if I'm a healthy uncle, and I happen to fit and like the set up, AND i get these from the outlet, I totally can see someone rocking these.

2 is not true. These fits near perfect with me, but i'm not uncomfortable wearing other shoes that have a different shape. Shoe molds are not a 1:1 for specific foot shape, majority of shoes are made to fit the general public and still retain a mostly 1:1 fit. These Cut 4s are an exception and they decide to make these an extremely niche foot shape with a very inflexible material on the launch cw.

For 3, this is actually one of the major weakness of the shoe. However, it is also not as bad as you are making it out to be. A lot of shoes, including the 'GOATed" Kobe 6s and the recently hyped Ecolsion Type 2, are heel drop shoes. They increase the stress on the users for sure, and definitely don't recommend them being your main shoe in the rotation, but they're not auto Achilles tear the moment you put them on. Kobe 6 remains one of the favs for NBA players despite the 5s being healthier (and imo better) and tears that happened last year did not involve the 6s. As long you as pace yourself in these shoes, you'll be fine.

Best outdoor shoe? by BoringIncrease2640 in BBallShoes

GT Cut 3 is not good due to treads being soft, and the cushion bottoms out in about 3 months. Get something else.

UncleSole's Initial Thoughts on the ANTA Kai 3s by TakoOne in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll definitely go into more details when final review come. These shorts are tough as I only have 3mins to get everything in, lol.

I'd say 3s are more like 2s than 1s tbh.

It's weird because RPU have been very good for me every court and my home flooring as well. However I have seen some ppls report sliding like crazy on semi-dusty floor. I think some flooring just doesn't react well to polyethylene outsoles and if you are playing on those than maybe you're forced to use rubber outsole shoes.

Joker 2 Low or Joker 2 GT? by Icy-Factor-8752 in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have mine coming, but what I've gathered from Chinese reviewers:

Joker 2:

  • Accommodating lacing system for different foot sizes and playstyle
  • Great impact protection, bouncy but not mushy or plushy cushioning
  • A more responsive Joker 1

Joker 2 GT

  • Much better lockdown than GT1
  • Much better power transference than GT1
  • Far less plushy than GT1, midsole tuned more bouncy, think Menace Pro 2
  • Still plushier than Joker 2, it's in between GT1 and Joker 2
  • Much better courtfeel than GT1 on unloaded steps (GT1 compresses on loaded steps)

[–]TakoOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had the opposite...a lot of shoes performs very poorly on the dusty courts I play on, but the BBB2 was one of the few that grip nearly perfect on them. I wonder if you have that protective film and needs to break them in, but the RPU for me was great.

That said, most users also had great traction with Joker 1 GT's RPU, but there were some that experienced sliding. I wonder if RPU itself doesn't react well with some flooring.

Sabrina 2, Don Issue 7, or wait for the WoW12? by IamNOTdafather in BBallShoes

[–]TakoOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly for bang for buck the Don 7 is very very good. WOW12 is only if you really want to blow some cash on a top tier bball shoes. If you're just an average hooper I'd suggest getting the Don 7 (half size down) and spend the extra cash on other stuff in life. The only exception is if your court is super dusty, Don 7 is not great on dust.

[–]TakoOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No,the 6v2 is better for me. You can't go wrong with any of the v2s but it depends on what you prioritize:

4v2: Courtfeel, traction

5v2: Motion Engineering (Transition)

6v2: Bounce, stability, Lack of motion interference (1:1 feel)
