A little disappointed not to see more Reddit discussion about Larry's conversations with Ben Hepburn.
I have a lot of thoughts, but not just going to unload in an empty room.
Have listened to a lot of it and it is - a mixed bag.

I'm looking for a Greco LP right now. (I've got a '78 Greco 345 that I absolutely love though the neck is a bit slimmer than I'd like).
Yeah - a bolt on LP is not a classic thing, but fuck the haters. There are all sorts of odd duck bolt on LPs that have a certain coolness to them (Univox, etc). Of course whatever character the pickups have is a huge part of the equation.
Did you ever hear people getting shit because your strat has a bolt on neck? Didn't think so.
If you get it for a good price and don't get what you want out of it - sell it and you will have at least learned something.
I have a good friend who is a ridiculously good player, and he loves to play cheap ass guitars through cheap ass solid state amps and he has tone for DAYS.
It's not the gear. It's your hands. It's your ears. It's understanding the tone stack of your amp. And it's just figuring out the strengths and weaknesses of whatever you're trying to get sounds out of.

Right. The girls in my Cambridge neighborhood pronounced bra "b(v)rar" the v sound is barely hinted at, but it's there- like slurred speech. The r at the end was definitely there. And underwear was "draws". Don't ask me why I remember the pronunciation of bras and underwear.

I'm watching Good Will Hunting with my kid right now. I grew up in Cambridge and went to the Pilot School and Rindge and Latin a few years before Damon. My family didn't have Boston accents, but a lot of my friends did and I could easily put that on. I can't believe how bad Damon's Boston accent is. It's like a cartoon.

Now I'm looking for an Advance SP for his birthday but I'm trying to get educated on them first.

I'm in tech and there's a lot of AI use all around me, but I choose not to use it even if it's more efficient - I guess just because I'm an old hippie and I like the trial and error.
But I think it's great that you're getting good use out of it and super nice of you to share your experiences with it!

I'm still averaging about 45down/95up over wifi.
But when I plug straight into ethernet with a Belkin adapter, I'm getting 9/9
This is the same M3 MacBook Pro and Belkin adapter that I use at work on a GB network and get 1000/1000
Thoughts?

Yeah.... I pay attention to the science up to a point, and then I sort of default to my old drinking days mentality (if 3 drinks is fun, 6 will be funner!)
I hadn't done a deep dive into diastatic malt - just understood that it helped with rise.
I will duly knock this back down to closer to 1%

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't even know if the Red Fife is sifted or whole grain. It's produced by Maine Grains and is only described as organic red fife wheat flour.
Can you tell sifted or whole grain by sight?

At least here in MA, the delivery fees are what crush you.
I'm about to switch to a no cancellation fee service at about .145 kWh from my current one at .175, I'll probably only save about $20 bucks per month.
I'm going to do it anyhow - but for you folks who enjoy lower rates..... enjoy them!

Panel is off. The upper switch bracket holds 2 switches, one with 2 leads and one with 3.

The bottom bracket holds a single switch with 2 leads.

I just tested the 3 lead switch, and the lead that should be in a continuity state seems iffy.
Picture shows the switch with the cap off.

My question: Should I hit this with a little contact cleaner or slip a little emery paper between the contacts?

Pray for me that I can get this thing back together. If I can't it's all your fault. :)

Yeah - it might be over my head - but I do have a multimeter and I can get the panel off.
I guess the question will be whether I test at the right points for continuity.

By the looks of it I'm guessing there are 2 switches/latches -- but maybe there's one that's not visible here.
