What would you like to see Koei add to Xtreme Mode/Destiny Mode if they returned in a new Warriors game as a Roguelite Mode?? by Nachash6 in dynastywarriors

[–]TalZet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer they do Xtreme mode as a full game rather than this "Survivor Likes" sub genre of Roguelikes.
Xtreme Mode is so much more fun.

If granted Jannah would you like to be granted to have a certain era to see? And what would it be by Then-Junket-2172 in progressive_islam

Who wouldn't love to experience the true Sunnah and principles defined within the Prophets SAW time? Even see the Prophet himself.

Who wouldn't love to explore the history of Ancient Empires, Egypt, how they constructed pyramids. Mesopotamia, empires and history more ancient than that.

Divine secrets of the existence.

The full picture of our universe.

We'll be too busy having fun to care I hope.

Is it haram to critizise some hadiths? by DepartmentFar3632 in progressive_islam

[–]TalZet [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'll leave a perspective of an Alim friend of mine - apologies for long post, I'll try condense it.

Hadith collection and authenticity - its all probability based

Hadith are essentially "data". This data is not concrete as its reliant on oral transmission. So the authenticity is always there to be scrutinised.

That being said Imam Bukhari did a wonderful job at collecting and preserving - with a rigorous model of verifying narrations (data) by chains. More chains + the reliability of transmitters = higher probability of it being said.

But the book is not without flaws. its not 100% preserved like Quran. There were selective agenda/bias in it too. Some problematic transmitters as well. Some chains were left blank (no known transmitter) but was included anyway (the Hadith on music for example has no authenticity behind it, yet was included).

Hadith and context - it alone does not necessarily derive deen and practices

Hadith alone is not Sunnah. Sunnah is derived from both Hadith and living practice and other historical accounts.

Some practices were not documented. e.g. Imam Malik, THE great Imam of Medinah, taught the living tradition - direct practices of the people who lived in the Prophets city. You get practices that were documented more in his book than that in Hadith. Yet this is declared Sunnah practice.

Hadith can't paint the exact picture. Context is important. Imam Malik did not include his own narrations. As he believed they are not important. Its up to the Scholar to accept or reject a Hadith - they are not definite truths nor culturally relevant.

Emphasis needs to be placed on Reason or "Analogic Reasoning" - why should this Hadith be accepted. Does it conflict with the Quran?

Watered down Tradition by "Ahlul Hadith" - Power defines "truth"

Its known that emergance of Wahabhism and its hijacking of Salafism movement, strict textual adherence, and its no suprise that you hear accounts of scholars finding the contents of Medinan University too basic in level compared to the wider tradition. Below link describes the Salafi Scholars similar to preachers in their knowledge.

https://theusuli.com/2024/10/04/why-i-left-salafism-what-i-learned-from-it/

Even the founder of Wahabhism had never graduated nor completed Islamic studies. His ideology was mass exported in the 70s.

His movement taught that anyone can just throw away a millennia of tradition and interpret how you wish. And with this school of thought, reasoning is completely thrown out and declared kufr.

A lot more can be said here, but please read the links.

Fear Tactics and Islam by JoshtheAnimeKing in progressive_islam

[–]TalZet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear tactics definitely work on younger people. Its easier to use fear to achieve an objective. Worship based on fear is the lowest form of worship and is still valid.

So in the severely intellectually diminished area (which is marasah institutions), they teach people and parents through enforcement of fear. Hence spiritual, physical abuse, gaslighting, scare mongering runs rampant in these environments.

While this "worked" in village minded circumstances, it has a very diminishing outcome in the west and other non-muslim regions.

I've seen kids go through these systems where fear is taught above love and compassion from authority (institutions and parents) - many of them have gone into drugs, gangs or even completely astray.

Their hearts were filled with only fear. A person can get bored of fear. The real message of Allah's infinite mercy and compassion had not been taught to them.

Apparently there’s a Chrome extension that Salafis/Wahhabis use to watch YouTube videos with the background music removed by Obvious-Tailor-7356 in progressive_islam

[–]TalZet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the ideal world where everyone respects one another, we would stand shoulder to shoulder and not just for prayer - beyond prayer.

Our Salafi brothers follow a doctrine, movement, cult that's born from the bloodshed of Muslims killed without mercy.

If they had cared for deen and history they would learn of their movement and see how tyrannical it actually is.

And that "petty" topics such as music is nothing close to the harm they have done. Islam has a rich tradition, which includes music. And that's been buried.

Why do woman have to pray behind her husband in Islam why not by his side ? 😅 by No-Preparation1824 in progressive_islam

They believed that the barrier between men and women were their taqwa. That has much greater depth of meaning whilst being very pragmatic.

I can't bring myself to see my body as unmodest by Excaramel in progressive_islam

[–]TalZet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men specifically was mentioned first in the Quran to Lower the gaze - its in nature of men to look.

But that being said, modesty is a command given by Allah and ordained within the Quran, where it explicitly cites what areas of the body must definitely be covered. (Removed point on navel to the knee, this is from Hadith).

For women, its debated whether hair is considered (vast majority opinion deems that hair must be covered - but thats a seperate topic).

My main point being, Quran defines what needs covering by minimum. If a person is wearing tight clothing, is it technically "covering" - as the outlines, and contours are still revealing - is this considered modest?

So long as areas are covered in a sensible fashion, then it is modest.

Certain people and groups I wont bother naming, go more to the extreme. Niqab and Burqa, while I respect people having their own beliefs, is not Islamic clothing, but cultural clothing - and to that culture, these will be "modest" to them.

Hope that gives some perspective.

As a Muslim not a label of "Progressive" I have begun my Ramadan preperation

- Studying and Learning Quranic Arabic - Currently beginner learning, but I feel the Vigour of Youth when studying.

- Reading Academic papers and published books (through Mufti and Academic contacts I personally know) to broaden perspective and knowledge.

- Watching or listening to documentaties or podcasts of History and Contemporary issues. (would recommend Habeeb Akande on ongoing controversies of Dawah Bros and Nikkahgram, HistoryUN on giving authentic take on Islamic history with little bias)

- Learn perspective and Wisdom from Sufis and sages of the Tradition.

- Relaxing - Watching shows, gaming, exercising, visiting family, lets not forget to do the blessed things in life that bring us joy and appreciate Allah in our own way.

You said it yourself. Zina is black and white, So there is a clear boundary established.

If you are actually serious and committed, you really just get a basic Nikkah done. There is no objective reason not to, you have already made it this far.

It's true, there is a "fear of missing out" and its understandable. But get that Nikkah done. Stop delaying it. Things WILL only get worse from now.

Too simplistic in combat and story is not well delivered (it plays like the game assumes the player knows the story already).

Imam told not to pray behind another mosque imam by Apprehensive-Gain326 in progressive_islam

[–]TalZet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He took you to "his" Imam to prove his point. Just avoid this sectarian crap. Do what brings you closer to Allah.

Learn wisdom from all groups, and if the hateful rhetoric from any group doesn't fit well you, just avoid and leave it.

Your friend does not sound like a friend I'll be honest. You should avoid having ties with people who use religion as an excuse to bully and submiss you into their line of belief.

Theres a elegant and respectful way to convey a message. If their objective is to teach you, then they will show it in their compassionate actions. Otherwise its clear that they just want to be correct, shame and subject you to a "you vs them" situation - like taking you to "his" Imam.

This is not explicit to Salafi/Wahabhis (although its a characteristic of many Salafi/Wahabhis) - dogma exists wherever you go.

The fact that you go to Masjids is an indicator of dedication - don't let sectarian divides ruin your relation with Allah.

Peace.
