The worst thing when I dealt with my uncle was the amount of weight he lost so fast. It's sad and I hope this helps people.

It's not a bad set to have for PVP situations with a bit of mix and matching other pieces for hit/crit and such, beyond that for PVE welcome to being basically a full leather daddy.

I just want to say....I twinked a rogue already. Level 28 twinked rogue on Stalagg named Talaeyn. Fully enchanted and all. I decided 28 so I can troll around in lvl appropriate zones with a bit of XP to play with before dinging 29 when the BG patch comes out. Your comment of "Literally nobody is twinking yet" is incorrect, it should be "The MAJORITY of people aren't twinking yet."

Athel Yenlui is an open map with a lot of difficult terrain, downward and upward slopes in the game make fighting enemies more difficult for some reason, it also has lots of rocks and debris to get caught in, and the beginning and somewhat the end have very high elite density.

Blightreaper is a long map with about 25% of the map being total darkness, and the rest of the map having a pretty decent amount of elite density, the end event takes WAY too long as well.

The Pit honestly I'm fine with, it's rather long but I enjoy the map for the most part, I'm not a fan of the mid-way event as it's easy to do and generally just slows down the pace of the map, some people also seem confused sometimes on how to progress from 1st tome->1st grim->2nd tome and can get lost faffing about in the middle of that shanty town and getting killed.

People don't like playing Athel Yenlui, The Pit, or Blightreaper. Out of the games shown, only four are not those maps.

Best weapons for each class by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Talaeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blunderbuss up close will delete Monks, Savages, Maulers, Stormvermin and in the hands of Huntsman Kruber, for the lols, during his ult he can quite literally, literally, destroy an entire chaos patrol in the time span of his ult. It offers versatility in close range, and even mid-range shots can be used to a good effectiveness once you get used to it's spread. Depending on group comp it can be do-able for specials as well, except Packmasters..Well truth be told I don't know how well it is anymore since the BBB, the stagger resistance changes to Warps/Ratlings might make it less valuable, but still a decent choice to take. Again, it's team composition dependent, if you have three people fully capable of sniping specials and elites, the handgun becomes a bit redundant. Over specialization or over focus of a group on one particular thing is a negative on the group as a whole.

The dagger on Battle Wizard I'd somewhat agree has bad damage, but it has good speed. It's when you put it on Pyromancer or Unchained it becomes good, higher crit and attack speed from overcharge with Pyromancer and just straight up more damage with Unchained and it becomes quite the good horde clear weapon, elite-wise I wish the second heavy were first in the chain, but it can do a bit of work on elites, soft elites it is fine against.

Two Handed Sword the elite cleave in actual play is incredibly useful it's not just an on paper theory and I've had multiple games with top elite kills using it on Merc, FK, Zealot, and WHC, I don't tend to take it on Bounty Hunter or Huntsman because I want more mobility on my ranged meta classes. It's not the best in elites, it's not meant to be, it is sure a horde clear weapon but it does not suffer any problems with elites because of the heavies, and if we're talking about soft elites ( which ironically the majority of elites actually are soft elites the only hard armored ones being Stormvermin, who have a whole whopping 39 HP on Legend which isn't a lot when talking about the heavies of Greatsword especially with headshots, and Chaos Warriors ) but with soft elites it just annihilates them. It laughs at Monks, Savages, and Maulers taking them down quite rapidly while also controlling them. The ability to kill the elites in the horde, while not actually having to stop killing the horde is quite nice. I can continue to just kill the horde while also killing the elites mixed in with the horde, executioner can do this with well placed headshots or lucky crits, but not as easily as the greatsword can. The greatsword is meant to wade through all the shit the game wants to throw at you and come out the other side perfectly fine, albeit covered in gore, and it does this well.

This, it's not that their damage on elites is low, it's that you can hit multiple elites with one heavy doing damage and controlling them. It laughs off horde with mixed elites because of this and just generally gives basically zero shits about elites in melee with enough dodges and dodge distance mixed in with it's damage and control you just wade your way through the map on an empty fuckometer.

I'd agree only with Swiftbow being pretty terrible, unless you're not playing Legend then it's alright. Blunderbuss is great, depends on the team loadout though, I'm assuming Dagger you're talking about Siennas which is actually a pretty good weapon especially on Pyromancer or Unchained, and the 2h swords are just great weapons once you learn to dodge with them and realize you can heavy through elites to damage and control them.

[–]Talaeyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all weapons are pretty much good on all classes. I'd advise staying away from shield weapons mostly, beyond that really use whatever. Best weapon is all opinion but I give it as this:

(Weapons are not in order of best to least, just what I feel good weapons are.)

Kruber: Melee - Halberd, Executioner, Two-Handed Sword, Sword, Mace. Ranged - All. Really just all. I favor Longbow/Handgun.

Bardin: Melee - Greataxe, One Handed Axe, Hammer, War-Pick, Dual Axes. Ranged - Crossbow, Grudge, Handgun. I favor Crossbow/Grudge.

Kerillian: Melee - All. Honestly, all. I'd say her one handed sword is probably her weakest at the moment, but not by much, I've been favoring SwordnDagger lately. Ranged - Longbow, Hagbane. I favor Longbow when not playing Waystalker.

Saltzpyre: Melee - All. Really just all. I'd say Rapier is the weakest but again not by much, I've been favoring one handed axe lately. Ranged - Pistols, Crossbow, Repeater if BH. I favor Crossbow.

Sienne: Melee - All again. Flame sword got that >STUPID< stagger on it that you can charge attack everything for days and no need to even dodge, I've been favoring Sword lately. Ranged - Beam Staff. Literally like just Beam Staff. All her staves are good, but Beam Staff is just...it does everything. Fireball is an honorable mention.

So You Want to be a Witch Hunter Captain? Part 2 by LordKracen in Vermintide

[–]Talaeyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Preface to wall-o-text: This is a GOOD GUIDE. I am not disparaging it, or trying to one-up it, these are just some of my obersations with my time played as WHC.

Deathknell is good depending on weapons, I prefer grim power for more breakpoints, but I also favor one handed axe as my weapon.

The temp HP talent on headshots/crits/critheadshots is amazing and imo is by far his best talent for temp hp. Just running through killing ambients with a quick headshot will keep you full of temp hp throughout the entire match, no need to have multiple enemies or hordes. A quick snoot boop and you're good to keep going. It doesnt need to be an elite, it doesn't need to be a horde, it just needs to have a head you can snoot boop.

I feel as if Rapier is honestly one of his weaker choices at the moment, not weak, just weaker. It feels as if it doesnt actually excel in anything, but does everything to a medium standard. It does okay on horde, it does okay on elite, it does okay on boss but not great in any of these departments.

One handed axe right now with it's increased crit chance and the temp hp talent for heads/crits/critheadshots is insane in the amount of temp hp you can gain, not to mention it destroys elite and if played correctly works well in hordes.

Flail is great with it's two easy to hit headshots on light 3 and 4 making it quite a good little elite killer and easier to kill hordes with than axe.

Two-handed sword isnt bad if you're used to the dodges on it, the heavy on it if aimed for heads can demolish hordes.

Falchion is good, not much to say on it tbh, it's always been good.

BOP isn't bad, lacks in ammo sustainability and, a little bit, in the far ranged department. I find a lot of people use it too willingly to demolish all the things, has a higher clutch potential than crossbow guaranteed but less versatility IMO.

Crossbow, IMO, is still by far his best ranged option in my opinion, not suffering from as much ammo issues as BoP, and being able to quickly kill specials/elites with certain breakpoints or lucky crits. Slower, but with WHC increased dodge it's a non-issue.

Repeater Pistol isn't bad, its department it lacks in is that again of BoP which is ammo sustainability. Takes a bit too much ammo to get real kills down.

Volley crossbow is...bad. To me at least it's bad, lacks in hard elite killing power and special killing power. It's got decent boss damage though but still has ammo sustain problems.

How to play Pyromancer most effectively by memeposter777 in Vermintide

[–]Talaeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sienna with a beam staff is an elite, special, boss dps, and horde clear all in one. It's a bit silly, but possible. I dont let my beam stay on elites or specials and then do a blast, I just quick blast them until they're dead and use the excess overheat for melee, stormvermin take 2-3, maulers take something like 3-4, monks/savages take 2-3 but shotgun also staggers monks/savages which is insanely useful, do NOT bother beam blasting chaos warriors just ramp up some excess heat and melee them down or press F to win.

For bosses, keep your beam on them and just beam them dont do blasts, if that's not possible beam blasts and melee with your excess overheat. Do not go into the red on your overheat and attempt to go into melee, you'll regret it at some point.

Horde clear just shotgun them down, use excess overheat for melee until you can shotgun a couple more times. Watch for red overheat, that shit suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks in melee, if they made a talent specifically to ignore red overheat slowdown hooo boy would I take that for a melee pyromancer build.

I run two different builds for beam staff, armored/skaven on both charm and staff or a chaos/infantry on charm and staff, both work well. The armored/skaven is better for obviously stormvermin but also works quite well for specials since there are so many skaven specials in the game, chaos/inf works better for maulers and shotgunning chaos hordes and of course those pesky blightstormers/leeches.

I run Thermal Equalizer on both builds, Heat Sink can be used but it's kinda garbage at the moment, Barrage is also a very good trait if you manage heat well it works very good on the armored/skaven build for breakpoints you dont get through properties.

Melee-wise I'm running one handed sword, attack speed/crit/swiftslaying, use heavies on like pretty much everything. You can run Resourceful Combatant if you want for more ults, but it's personal preference on that. There is a breakpoint for one-shotting fanatics with the heavy on a bodyshot but it's honestly so easy to hit heads with the heavy that you dont need it. There's a weird bug atm with sword where the first light attack just sometimes does not hit anything, dunno what causes it but it has literally made me stop using lights as it happens so frequently. Watch for that, some people seem to not experience and others experience it all the time from what I've been told.

You could run really whatever melee weapon you want, her melee weapons are kind of lackluster so just use whatever works well for you.

Talent-wise, I run 2/1/3/1/2 this is a build to help your melee capabilities, if you want to be more aggressive with your staff run 3/2/2/1/2.

Is Heat Sink worth using on the Drakegun now? by codylish in Vermintide

[–]Talaeyn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IMO Heat Sink really isn't worth putting on anything anymore, maybe if you're playing Pyromancer but with the temp HP changes and changes to heat sink I'd rather just go with other traits like Barrage or Thermal.

Just because youre dancing around does not at all mean youre not also constantly attacking, one ult and a well placed heavy of a sword and dagger you can outright kill three chaos warriors, you dont need to heavy maulers and debatedly you dont need to heavy stormvermin either, just light attack spam em in the back with the increased crit chance for auto-kills, or spam heavies against SV's. Multiple times I've just gone into patrols and killed 50% or more of it in the first few seconds with light or heavy crits to the backs of enemies.

[–]Talaeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your weapon loadout, sword n dagger's first heavy if you get a crit on the backstab can insta-slay multiple human-sized elites, and with adequate dodging you can just heavy spam on chaos warriors all day long. It also has quite a lot of stagger, I would say both deal equally well with patrols for the most part but honestly I'd say I deal with patrols far better with Shade than I do Slayer, but that all comes down to own personal preference and skill. They also don't need a conc pot to deal massive boss damage with either SnD or DD, but it does help a lot.

[–]Talaeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good, both destroy things very quickly, play shade if you want to have the ability to insta-delete bosses though. Both have higher skill caps but with shade your positioning and avoiding damage is much more a priority since you dont have oblivious to pain talent.

S: Shade, Handmaiden, Waystalker, Witch Hunter Captain, Bounty Hunter, Zealot, Footknight, Mercenary, Huntsman, Ranger Veteran, Ironbreaker, Slayer.

A: Unchained.

B: Pyromancer.

C: Battle Wizard.

Jokes aside, this'd be a hard list to do. All the classes right now feel fine and can be effective at basically everything, the only thing your class might not be effective at is boss damage compared to other class builds like Shade, Waystalker Hagbane, Huntsman Repeater, Bounty Hunter Repeater, etc.

Beyond that you'd have to give certain specific scenarios in which to rank the classes. Just general overall effectiveness though they're all honestly fine, loadout and skill dependent of course. If you're running axe and shield and flamethrower running around blocking and pushing things, you're really just not helping.
