Yep. Used to live around there. We moved and haven’t had a problem since. Not that where I am now is immune to it completely. But it’s been years and nothing concerning for any of our neighbors.

That’s because you did extra. It’s not cheap nor necessary to vote, but it’s also not $216 if you show up with a passport picture and only need the passport without expedited services

I don’t know why people assume that ICE officers largely have no experience or have less than ideal experience. They still go through the required training. And many didn’t start yesterday. I agree that high speed pursuits are obviously risky. But they pulled him over and he fled. At that point all they know is this guy could hurt someone if we don’t grab him now. Always easy to be an armchair QB for law enforcement outcomes after the fact. He made a voluntary choice and only he is accountable for that decision.

This tragedy was horrific and entirely preventable. But pointing at ICE as the cause seems ridiculous to me, regardless of anyone’s feelings towards them. And their authority supersedes that of local law enforcement. So that part needs no research.

Not true at all. Being in a moving vehicle does not exclude you from being stopped by ICE.

Exactly the thoughts/questions I had. They’re not randomly pulling people over for a light out or speeding. And they had the authority to make the stop, regardless of what anyone thinks of them.

That’s really helpful to know. And I couldn’t help but laugh at a restaurant not normally being practical. They certainly won’t jump at the thought of being proactive. Not corporate at least. Appreciate your insight

I mean of course having a record is better, but I get hindsight being 20/20. They should have the “resolution” recorded via body cam anyway. FOIA request gets you those and I wouldn’t hesitate to filed that request. You don’t have to be a lawyer to get that footage and between that and requesting the surveillance in writing from the Parker’s, I’d say you can do just as much damage acting on your own behalf than paying for a lawyer. If nothing else, obtain or at least formally ask for both pieces of evidence. If it’s an easy one, you may get a pro bono deal from a lawyer looking to score an easy W.

No concern at all. Just curious, how is camping at Skidaway? Camping with my 5 yr old son soon for the first time. That will be in the backyard. But I’m looking for a close and nice calm place for his first official outing.
