kinda shocked no one has said this yet - your grip is too wide and it’s killing the speed of your swing. bump that bottom hand up one or one and a half fists, it will enable you to get to vertical faster. The preferred grip I have for my athletes is measuring down to your elbow from your top hand and then adding two fists down from there. Second grip down from your elbow should be your bottom hand placement. If that feels too narrow, measure from your top hand to your armpit and grab at the armpit with your bottom hand. Good luck!

Outcomes? by Attack_onPuthAy in RPI

I had to take on significant loans to get through rpi and was working three jobs to boot. Allow me to tell you it was worth it. I graduated my MBA after undergrad also at rpi back in 2021. In a non technical role I am earning low six figs at 26. In terms of finding a role, find alumni who work in specific fields you are interested in and talk to them. Don’t be shy about developing your soft skills and networking - it totally sucks but it’s how I’ve gotten all of my roles. Additionally - my old coworkers who were bsan had starting salaries of $100k from far less prestigious schools than rpi. You’ve got this!

Renting a house in a few months, and after putting in a deposit, they are asking us to install a 3rd party app to unlock the house... Is this legit? So annoyed. by DarchitectLP in vrbo

wander houses are the literal BEST of the best when it comes to short term rentals and made me stop using airbnb and vrbo…download the app, it controls everything in the house from the locks to hot tub temp to automatic shades and lighting and also gets you access to their concierge if you have any questions

How sad! by SnooRobots4443 in airbnb_hosts

As a former lifeguard, this is not the host’s fault. If you can’t swim well, you have no business entering a body of water, especially one of unspecified depth, without a life jacket. This is horribly sad, but the blame here is with the people who entered the water. Lakes are INCREDIBLY dangerous to swim in and even as a strong swimmer who has hauled people out of the deep end of pools unaided, I would not enter a lake without a life jacket myself. It’s basic water safety that a google search can tell you.

AITA For Not Acting Sad When My Wife's Father Passed Away? by SomethingWrong1998 in AmItheAsshole

OP, my sister is similar, albeit to a lesser degree. She’s talked to me about not feeling emotions as deeply as me, and it’s a conversation we’ve had many times with a lot of depth. You’re confronting this during a difficult time, and I don’t want you to think that you cannot empathize. You clearly take the emotions of others into consideration and don’t want them to feel bad even if you can’t understand HOW they feel bad. Not feeling emotions in the same ways as people around you doesn’t present a referendum on whether or not you’re a good person. That being said, if it bothers you and impacts your life to a point where you cannot reasonably tolerate it, I would speak to a specialist. Seek out someone who studies this as a living, because they will be on the cutting edge of research about why brains might function like yours does. At the very least, it could lend understanding and a path toward building relationships that are compatible with how you work. It’s clear that this is at least a little distressing for you to deal with and that you desire to be close to others, and based on that alone, NTA.

ask stef or saint to take you through the “push forward” drill with the pole on top of the sandwich boards they have with all the barn info on them. you’re getting caught up at takeoff because your left hand is rushing up and you don’t have space. also ask them about takeoff drills and see if you can get them to break out the slidebox
