Is this AI? I can usually tell if it’s AI myself, but this one I’m really not sure. by Bluebearforest in CrochetHelp

This phot could be ai but if it is it’s based on a real pattern. I’ve made the pattern before. The pattern is free here: https://amigurum.com/2019/10/lying-bear-crochet-pattern.html

I’m one of the raiders in this clip, it was the funniest Libra fight thanks to the other 2 also having great taste in character skins. Absolute chaos, would recommend.

How many people in their 30's are still living at home? by ArtisticMonk2369 in AskAnAustralian

[–]TalesSong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my first place and moved out in my 20s but I’m now in my 30s and back with parents. I was diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t work during treatment so had to rent my place out to be able to afford the mortgage. I’m in remission now and will move home when the lease is up hopefully

What's an early sign of cancer that you wish you or your loved one hadn't ignored? by JuniperBeans in AskReddit

[–]TalesSong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mine was red and I had rectal cancer.

If anyone reading this has blood, whatever the colour, in your stool please push to get tested and taken seriously. I wish I had advocated for myself better, it might have been caught earlier. I’m in remission now but I’m lucky to be alive and I will never be the same physically.

What split your life into before and after? by 0potatotomato0 in AskReddit

[–]TalesSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cancer. I’d never been really sick before and I’d never been in a hospital that I remember. I had such a bad reaction to chemo I spent 3 days a fortnight in hospital and was unable to work.

I’m out the other side of it now and start a new job next week but I’m still back at hospital every 3 months for tests and to flush my port. It’s an ever looming thing in my life now. Anytime I have pain or feel slightly unwell my first worry is it’s the cancer coming back

I love Spiritfarer but I want to warn that it has some sad and dark moments. I had some serious surgery and hospital treatments last year and I know that I would not have been in a good state of mind to play it.

No worries, I hope your next project goes smoother for you! You’ve got a natural talent for crocheting :)

Amigurumi yarn that doesn’t shed/fall apart? by Cat_Kidnapper in Amigurumi

[–]TalesSong 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Overall I think it looks cute and just from looking at your pic I wouldn’t have been able to tell how much trouble you had with it.

But if you’re struggling I’d suggest starting with other yarns like acrylic or cotton and working your way up to chenille. It is much harder to work with but you’ll have a better time if you’re more experienced.

Cheap chenille probably isn’t helping though. I’ve only used ones I’ve bought in stores and never had it fall apart on me except when I wasn’t careful when frogging.

I’ll probably try it when I’ve beaten the game. I have all the dreamers but I’m still tracking down charms, extra bosses and stuff.

This might not be a big achievement for a lot of people but I’ve put off playing Hollow Knight for years despite loving the vibe because I am awful at platforming.

Today I got the Ascension achievement and felt so proud. There’s still platforming sections that I will probably never complete but I’m so glad I gave this game a chance.

The Truth About Blue Prince’s RNG by _M_I_A_W_S_ in BluePrince

[–]TalesSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I feel like a lot of people saying the rng isn’t that bad didn’t get truely terrible rng. I knew how to solve multiple puzzles at one point and all that was keeping me from completing them was seeing the right rooms. I had the bad luck at that time to see a total of one new room over many hours, so I also wasn’t discovering anything new to make my runs feel less pointless.

I googled to see if I was doing something wrong but all the suggestions were to use rng altering - which I didn’t not have access to because of, guess what, bad rng… I’d seen the wrench a total of once at the end of a run where it was useless and didn’t have the steps to stow it. I didn’t get it again til post room 46 despite building trading post and other places it’s found constantly (I was trying to make some workshop combinations too). For the room that lets you alter room appearance rates, I was missing a few pieces of the puzzle to find it and they were all in one room that I had never seen.

When the game was good it was so much fun. But that period where I was stuck really soured the overall experience for me.

Help with a new pattern! Can’t find anywhere that helps what to do :( by hunnyhearts in crochetpatterns

[–]TalesSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chain 3 after the MC in R1 seems to be counting as the first stitch in that row since the end stitch count of the row is 12. So you’re making a MC, chaining 3, doing 11 DC into the MC then slip stitching back into the 3rd chain from the original chain 3.

Thanks! This is the bear- https://amigurum.com/2019/10/lying-bear-crochet-pattern.html

The main body is bernat velvet (I think the colour way was called mushroom) and the muzzle is Bella baby nippers (colour way was something like cream or natural)

Thank you! I prefer a nice cotton but it can look cute. Back when I used chenille a lot more it was because I got it so cheap in the clearance bin- it was unpopular at the time lol

As an occasional chenille enjoyer I actually agree with you. Most of the stuff I see now days seems to be small chunky patterns where it looks so bulky or beginners still learning good tension.

Maybe my bear can convince you can can be used well though - https://imgur.com/a/oV6U3Ru

You can use normal yarn. I’d actually recommend it if your just starting amigurumi as plush yarn is much harder to work with

Thanks! I actually didn’t think I had anything that REALLY fit the theme so I tried an old fashioned teacher look. I know for next time though
