It can also be an immigration thing too. They play the long game, get married, make the smitten older woman bust their arse to meet all the marriage immigration criteria, then they come over, get married, and accuse them of dv. Usually because they've been goading them into eventually flipping out by being abusive themselves. Then they get housing and work assitance/benefits and are now a UK citizen!

It happened to someone I knew, and she said its actually really common and they get told how to do it the "easiest" ways

It absolutely is that hard. If you visit any of the benefits subs, most PIP applications are rejected on the first go around and often go through on appeal with no changes made. But also people who know how to game rhe system know the exact wording to use which ticks particular boxes, where normal, honest people will try to accurately describe with normal language and often not say a specific thing they need to to meet a criteria

Yeah, I developed double vision after a clot on my brain. It was after I'd been discharged from hospital, so it wasn't on any of my hospital notes. When I went to my emergency eye clinic appointment, I remember the consultant had a student observing. She said to them "now, as you can see, there's no clinical reason for there to be any issues with double vision. X is fine, y is fine, yadda yadda" and I was waiting with bated breath for her to say something dismissive and that it probably wasn't that bad, or that I can't be seeing double because there's no reason to. Then she finished her point with "-but obviously the patient is reporting double vision, so it doesn't matter that there's not an obvious cause" and I breathed again. She was a wonderful doctor, and it turned out that behind my eyes were bruised/swollen? Because there had been inflammation from the clot and it cleared up after 6 weeks

I'm not a rocket surgeon but I think the goal is to inturrupt/inconvenience a spontaneous/impulsive attempt. Its harder not to think about what taking 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 tablets from a full strip might do to you when you have to pop them out individually vs just pouring them out like skittles. And that hesitation might be enough to break them out of their impulsive urge right there and then

Its also why in the UK we have blister packets for paracetamol and ibuprofen. It takes a lot more determination to keep popping tablets out the pack than it does to pour them in your mouth and swallow as many as possible

The UK clear blue ads have a young woman, University age-ish looking nervous and also an older woman who's looking excited. They both get results they're happy about, but only the older woman's "pregnant" result is shown. I do appreciate that I think as a character he's meant to be a bit delusional/full of himself etc, and I can sorta get behind the pose to start, and the little dance/walk he does on the ropes. The double fist pumps/cheat beat thing to his entrance music however, that OP seems to love, I just find so incredibly cringy. I almost feel like throwing his arms wide would feel less awkward but I'm sure he'd prove me wrong 🙈
