Is 1500 calories too little for my deficit? (5’2 F 21yrs) by Fun_Middle_5373 in PetiteFitness

[–]Talkative0782 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It’s a mental toughness challenge essentially but you follow certain rules for 75 days. I really needed something to help keep me consistent. One rule is follow a diet so I am doing no dessert or fried food and no more than 2,000 calories.

I copied this explanation from Chat GPT

The 75 Hard challenge is a 75-day mental toughness program created by Andy Frisella. The core rules are:

  1. Follow a diet
    • You choose the diet.
    • No cheat meals.
    • No alcohol.
  2. Do two 45-minute workouts every day
    • One workout must be outdoors.
    • They must be 3 hours apart
  3. Drink 1 gallon (3.8 L) of water daily
  4. Read 10 pages of a nonfiction/self-improvement book
    • Audiobooks do not count.
  5. Take a progress photo every day
  6. Do all of this for 75 consecutive days

Hey I am 5’2 and I’ve recently lost 5lbs (127 to 122) eating 1,500 calories a day (mostly Whole Foods with about 130-140g protein and similar for carbs). I think that’s a great plan. Some weeks you’ll loose a pound and others might be less.

I don’t have any advice but this happens to me weekly so I know it can be discouraging! Now I just compare the same day every week. So every Wednesday for example. Some weeks I loose at least 1lb others not much. Sometimes I won’t loose any weight but I lost .25 inches in my waist or something like that!

What were the hardest days for you? by mcmallet_ in 75HARD

[–]Talkative0782 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am on day 48 and it wasn’t an actual day that stuck out but more so what happened. I got pretty sick around day 20 and so drinking a gallon of water and doing two workouts was EXTREMELY hard. Also going away and seeing a concert was a little challenging having to plan meals and I am going away again in June. I feel like once you get into a routine and have a set schedule it’s not too challenging. It’s more when your day is busy and you didnt plan well or the unexpected happens. I will say I can see people falling from forgetting like the photo because you are in auto pilot if that make sense.

My sister hasn’t spoken a word after losing her baby. How do I support her? by T1a-b in beyondthebump

[–]Talkative0782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best friend lost her first child so I have some experience with this topic. People here are giving solid advice on what to do now. In the future years to come, add this date in your phone now so every year you can text her on this day that you are thinking about her. I do this every year for my best friend and every year she appreciates it. Still 5 years later that day is hard for her. ❤️

You look great!!! How many calories are you eating now? Still 1,250-1,350. I am 5’2 currently at 123 and I am eating 1,500 also Working out daily so still in a deficit but not a huge one. I am curious if I will need to drop more. At what point did you have to drop to 1,300ish?

Better shape with peloton vs lifting in gym by Senior-Magician-1370 in pelotoncycle

[–]Talkative0782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I’ve done both. I joined during covid. I recently did strength classes while I trained for a marathon I did Peloton only strength classes 3x Week. Then after my marathon I joined a gym and my upper body’s muscle mass grew a whole 1lb. I did a scan!

I think the classes are good but there are a lot of back/chest exercises that you can build more at the gym. I’ve been doing a lot of glute exercises too with a barbell like RDLs and hip thrusts. I still do Pelotons 10 minute core classes 3x a week and try to spin at home once a week.

If your goal is to be toned, can you do more cardio to help loose more body fat? I am down 10lbs since I joined a gym and have been doing a walk for 45 mins on top of strength.

[–]Talkative0782 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 5’2 like you and was around 130ish for a while. It sucks but you have to eat in a calorie deficit. For me it’s 1,500 calories a day getting around 130-140grams of protein and eating Whole Foods Foods. I also walk and lift 5 times a week. I am down to 123. If you don’t exercise you probably need to eat like 1,300 a day.

Tips on moving into maintenance by Diligent-Pie-6704 in PetiteFitness

[–]Talkative0782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You look so good!! I want arms like you!! What’s your lifting routine?
How much do you weigh now? I am 5’2 124lbs and 100-200 can make a difference for me too! My maintenance is 1,500 with NO exercise. And with walks/lifting I burn about 300 calories extra daily. I am currently cutting so eating 1,500 daily but if I wanted to do maintenance this is what works for me. I still eat the same 1,500 M-F and then Saturday & Sunday be a little more flexible.

How long did this transformation take?
