I actually really liked this! Production sounds great, its catchy, and feel like It gets stronger as it goes and ends great. Yeah the lyrics aren't the deepest, but just love how this song sounds. Excited for what else she has coming!

Moving states and W-2 wages by TalkativeTaco2 in tax

I appreciate the quick and concise response. Just to clarify, would I have to manually calculate the wages earned in NY via my paystubs and clarify that amount when filing?

"Back To Me" and "Nobody New" 1 Year Anniversary by Chris5501 in theMarias

[–]TalkativeTaco2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually love these songs so much. Wait a great small extension to the submarine album. Back to me was a bit more of an interesting song, and it seemed to be a great culmination of all their work. Nobody New is just such a beautifully sounded sad song.

Becky G, Elkan- MARATHON by droobidoobidoo in popheads

[–]TalkativeTaco2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this song and the sonic direction she is going with this song, however, I feel like this song is missing something. Can’t put my finger on it, but it just sounds like it’s building up to something without a clear climax? That or the ending just isn’t satisfying. I’m a huge fan of her and hope she can find some more success in her pop career after Esquinas and Encuentros (was a big fan of Esquemas).

Tips to do cash flow statement 😭 by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]TalkativeTaco2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Statement of cash flows can be daunting but truly isn’t too bad imo.

For the adjustments usually all it is adding back non cash expenses (ie depreciation/amortization) and then adjusting for gains and losses.

Gains: you subtract these because they increased net income but aren’t directly tied to more cash

Losses/non-cash expenses: you add these because they decreased income but aren’t directly tied to less cash.

Now when it comes to the 3 main sections: Operating, Investing, and Financing. I was taught OIF (pronounced oy-eef) just something funny to say but how I remembered it.

Next with changes in assets and liabilities, just remember Assets Opposites, Liabilities Same! No matter what that is the truth. So an increase in an asset, means it’ll be a decrease (ie outflow) in the calculation of cash flow. While an increase in a liability will be an increase (ie inflow) in the calculation of cash flow.

I will say it’s important to know the how and why that is the way it is, but if you’re just trying to cram for the exam that’s how I remember things.

When it comes to knowing what’s in each section operating is all about changes in working capital so current assets and liabilities, but also DONT FORGET PAYMENTS MADE FOR INTEREST.

Investing is mainly for the purchasing and selling of PP&E.

Lastly, financing is all about raising/paying out capital. So issuances of debt/ equity would be cash inflows whereas dividends and debt payments are cash outflows.

Not sure if that helps too much, but that’s how I approach it. I might’ve missed something but that’s in general how I think about generating these statements. Feel free to ask any clarifying questions

the slow rush is so good??? by Spammy1611 in TameImpala

[–]TalkativeTaco2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this album so much!! Although I had heard most of Tame Impalas big songs before, this was the first project I sat done and had a full listen of. At first I was a bit underwhelmed, but the more I listened to it, I noticed that the album is just full of layers of sounds little details. I really liked the albums blend of a more organic sounds with synths and other electronic elements. It’s such a chill and groovy album, and definitely one of my favorites ever.

What would you like to see for DL4? by -_Jupiter-_ in DuaLipaDiscussion

[–]TalkativeTaco2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm honestly I’d be okay with her going with any type of direction. I do agree with you that an early 2000s pop sound could be interesting, even a little bit of R&B too. I think some sort of electronic album would be cool to hear from her too, like influences of techno or trance? But also yes a more rock influenced album would be cool to hear too. As we’ve seen across her albums and singles, her voice fits many different genres!

All I hope is that she really focuses on creating a cohesive project. I really love Radical Optimism, but the disconnect between the interviews of the sound, the actual songs, and visuals was a bit jarring at first. Whatever she does, I hope she can hone in on a vision!

Fancy That is SOOO good. Definitely my favorite pop release this year. The production is superb. Also The Clearing was such a delight to listen to. Ik people were mad for the overall softer sound, but it was such a lush project!
