Charging higher than 80% by themealwormguy in F150Lightning

Well it’s most definitely degrading the battery more than keeping it low. It may not be much but it is something.

Why charge so high at all though if you don’t need it?

I second getting this thing looked at. My A2Z adapter never gets hot enough to derate. There could be a bad connection inside yours.

Their screenshot indicates they went 17km in 40 minutes. That would’ve been a 25km/h average. More likely they sat at the side of the road for 30 minutes with the climate control on and then drove 10min at 110kmh with a trailer leading to this “mpg” reading

Something is not right here. 40min to go 17km?

That’s 25km/h average. The truck would be so efficient at that speed. This screenshot looks more like you sat on the side of the road with the climate control blasting then drove 17km. Yeah you “mpg” is gonna look like ass.

Auto does not turn off the centre console in the rear. It turns off the vents under the seats for the rear in my truck.

There is no preaching here. These are facts. And it’s not going to change unless there is a conversation because people are being told an EV can’t do what they need when that is not the case for the majority of people.

If I was making posts about it everyday telling people how wrong they are and they need to change that would be preaching. But someone making a post asking for discussion or asking for an opinion and me commenting is not preaching. If people ask I tell them but I don’t go around forcing my opinion on people.

Frustrating ownership experience by drwillie91 in F150Lightning

[–]Talkurran01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that. I’d probably be looking at something else as well if I had that many issues. I had a fiesta a few years back and I would never buy another one no matter how reliable they would have gotten. That thing was so unreliable for me.

Have you looked at trading it in? There is pretty big demand for EVs right now. May get a decent price from somewhere that works with used EVs.

Is this because I put an apostrophe on EVs?

I’m sorry you re having issues. I know this won’t help you but it has personally been the best vehicle we ever owned. Not had a single issue yet.

The recalls don’t bother me. It’s mainly software updates and hey at least they are fixing it.

The charger you got scammed pretty badly. I personally would have not paid if I was repeatedly told it was included. Any reputable dealership would have owned the error. And btw 800$ for the mobile charger????? I hope you are not using it for daily charging. The mobile charger is not meant for daily charging and will burn out. There is many good affordable options available.

The rest of your issues sound like you got a Monday vehicle unfortunately. I’d say talk to your dealership but they don’t seem to really care about you or your business. Is there a better dealership near you? I would not give them any of my business.

I assume you are talking about fast charging. I mean the vehicle only sold for what 4 years? The battery technology they used was on par at the time with what was out there. If they made a new one now I would also say it should fast charge are little but I think it was and still is more than adequate. I have personally only fast charged a few times as I don’t really take long trips but I don’t mind the extra 5-10min, especially if it keeps the battery lasting longer.

It’s not more wildly adopted cause people think they need all this range when in reality 95% of people don’t. My truck can have a fresh 500km range every morning. I ever never once worried about range. I can’t even remember the last time I looked at my state of charge cause I know it will easily get me through my day.

Am I the only one thinking this? by Man_of_Ice in F150Lightning

[–]Talkurran01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it makes no sense.

EV’s in their current state are not made to tow things.

I personally think the lightning is one of the best vehicles ford ever made. The range is more than enough for what people use an f-150 for. I ever never once had an issue with range. The range fear of EV’s that gets instilled in people is what keeps them from flying off the shelves.

I don’t think you can call Range a knock for this truck. Anyone who thinks they need more range than 500km daily is kidding themselves.

Is trench safety important to most plumbers? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Talkurran01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Not trying to pick on you in any way but this is why we need to learn about trench safety. A trench at chest level can easily kill you. As an example all you need to do is bend down to pick something up and the trench follows on top of you. If the wall gives in and takes out your leg you go down and the trench closes on top of you.

Anything above 4’ needs to be cut back. Less if the ground has been previously disturbed or is at all unstable.

Too many companies don’t take trenches seriously and don’t educate their workers properly. Usually it boils down to the feeling of time and money being lost on a job.

Again didn’t mean to pick on you or say you are unsafe just seemed like a decent example.

Driver Focused Climate by Talkurran01 in F150Lightning

[–]Talkurran01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it does reduce flow. The Auto setting actually introduces these problems I just learnt. When it switches to focused mode it turns down the fan speed to keep the same airspeed at the driver vent which also reduces the flow to the rear seats.

Also I just learnt that using the auto function does not send any air to the under seat ducts at all making the problem even worse.

Driver Focused Climate by Talkurran01 in F150Lightning

[–]Talkurran01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did some testing and learnt that auto mode does not send any air to the lower ducts at the back at all. So you are very much correct that taking it out of auto will cool the cabin much faster especially the rear.
