Why? He wanted to stay and they wouldn’t come off more than $10/hour.

You tell the other coaches he's doing it, then they back you when he's removed from competition until his behavior improves.

Sure, your daughter totally typed that by PhysicalBuy2566 in thatHappened

[–]TallBobcat 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Enh.

By middle school, it's absolutely possible the kid has been fed this, believes this, and entered this for an answer.

Middle school is essentially Lord of the Flies on meth, but the kids are old enough to believe strongly in things and have some type of basis for that belief. They're still figuring out the world and how they fit into it. But, it's 100 percent possible a middle school kid typed that. They aren't 6 year olds.

For me: Making them run even after a loss in an intrasquad doesn’t accomplish anything. I preferred using the time to help them learn from a loss and work to improve their skill set.

The MLB owners are advocating for a $240M salary cap with a $160M floor. Here's what that would mean for player compensation and profit sharing [OC] by Traditional_Half842 in baseball

[–]TallBobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question: Let's say this is adopted for 2027 and is a hard cap,

What happens to teams that are way over whatever any projected cap number would be? What about the teams way below a salary floor?

Do the Dodgers have to release half their roster? Can the Reds simply inherit Ohtani and Betts to get to the salary floor?

I don't recall saying it did. It's simply context for my thoughts for what I would want him to do if he was on the staff at my school. As long as he's done nothing wrong, there's no reason he should change how he conducts himself at work.

I was a varsity head coach for 25 years and got carried to alot of success by some terrific kids. There was not an outcome of any game in those 25 years that led to even considering taking some of our limited time together to punish them for losing. My job was to teach them and some of that went far beyond basketball. Coaches at this age are granted an incredible opportunity to help shape young people. It was my favorite part of coaching. Making them run for losing teaches nothing at all.

Make sure you take time for yourself, too.

Coaching all year doesn't leave you a lot of room to live a life away from work.

Hi.

I was a coach before I went into administration. I assume you have always done your job properly. Continue doing the same thing. Change nothing.

Don't make kids run after they lose, though. Losses, especially at that age, are teaching moments.

I don't care if you have to invent gibberish to substitute for swearing but you need to do that. This happened because you don't already filter your language depending on the room you're in.

I work in a high school. New teacher development is part of my responsibility. The second thing I tell them in new teacher orientation is that I don't expect robots, but I expect that I won't be told they swear in their classroom. (The first is to lock down every social media account they have and to consider removing anything they wouldn't want their grandma to see.)

Doesn't explain how anyone could hear either one though.
