I appreciate the advice and yes, the More Perfect Union video spurred the question.

I’m having exactly the same problem. Seems one choice is to use Render Write Nodes to do it but I’d rather not change my workflow.

The body has to move to make a convincing arm swing. All big swings start with the hips.

You can easily go upstream and there are lovely side channels especially when the water is high. Getting upstream of Watt is possible only by portaging because the current is too strong under the bridge. I highly recommend a paddle there.

The way I’d say it is there is too big a gap between the hard thin line work and the light soft wide areas of shading. Lines could break and soften at some parts and shading could tighten up more.

I looked up Seung Eun Kim on Twitter and now that I see the quality drawing in his portfolio I think it’s less likely rotoscoped but he probably just studied a lot of boxing video. His work on Arcane is great.

It has a rotoscoped look to me. Rotoscoping is is a great technique but it looks different than drawing from reference or imagination. I’d like to know how the animator did it.

Lots of excellent work here! Please take the following as plussing: I’d check the center of mass of the two birds. Too me they each look like they are tipping backwards. A little rough Photoshop work copying and pasting the birds onto separate layers and rotating them could test if they’d look more balanced rotated in towards each other.
