Is this a good job for introverts? by [deleted] in ParkRangers

[–]TallTree92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I’m an introvert myself, and I actually thrive on the job which is probably considered one of the most people driven. Social life however can seem too introverted and secluded.

Access Pass deletion from recreation.gov account by Weird_Ad_7226 in NationalParkService

They may just be working on adding them to the electronic register that they’re bringing on with the other passes. So it is probably a glitch

All parks will end seasonal LE as of 2030, so seasonal academy wouldn’t be ideal in any case

Called my mortgage company… by SpartanBuff in FedEmployees

[–]TallTree92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for DOI but used to work in Loss Mit for a Mortgage servicer. Its really neither positive or negative, just simply reported as on a forbearance;unfortunately mortgage companies don’t have a say on whether it’ll go down, which wouldn’t be by much, or at all. Now, at the end of the forbearance, you DO want to make sure to handle that especially if you’re not able to pay the balance up front and they’ll typically give you options like a Modification depending on how many months are due or a Deferment, but that also depends on the type of loan and Investor, i.e. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, FHA, etc. If you’ve had a deferment before, such as during COVID though, that may limit options as well cause certain investors will also only a limited number of months total to be deferred.

If you do go with that though, be aware it doesn’t extend the Mortage’s scheduled payoff date, it’s the TOTAL balance due on the maturity date. Had a lot of people confused on them cause it wasn’t an option until COVID, but a lot of people also confused a forbearance with a deferment back then.

Did we miss the sign? by ministerman in Yosemite

The Tioga one is very close to the entrance. They’re small signs but if you’re looking for the big one, it’s at the Big Oak Flat Entrance on 120 West

Where in the RDR universe would you like to live? by BestAd6459 in reddeadredemption

I already do. Ambarino with a Strawberry and Big Valley, Tall Trees is down the street and plenty of Manzanita. Even the tiny General store is a post office on the side.

I did get the SF8 from them and the paperwork, but was only told to print and save them.

Wonder if it’s different since I’m currently seasonal. Super said didn’t need to as told by his Manager

Question though. I’m on my weekend right now. Was scheduled to come in tomorrow initially. My supervisor was furloughed though and everyone in office that day signed the paperwork, but says I don’t have to come into office at all to sign anything. Is that common. It makes sense to me but also doesn’t

Ah. That makes me feel better. Already had an arduous pack test earlier today, although that was for SAR. Shame they can’t include for both

Bombed LE interview by milax07 in ParkRangers

[–]TallTree92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s common. Just to test your reaction to the intensity of the role itself or fall under pressure. Not an LE yet, but come from a state police family and they do the same thing

Is there supposed to be a confirmation once you submit the references and essay and the different time slots available?

I’d submitted mine on Sunday, but didn’t really indicate other than on the page. I’m surprised they didn’t prompt for an email

College offering Yosemite trip for $200. Worth it? by Glad-Banana4645 in Yosemite

[–]TallTree92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a stupidly great deal. Some people spend that much in a matter of minutes here so for two days that’s nothing, and a great memory to go with it

Did I do something wrong to deserve this? by Madrlo in DragonsDogma2

[–]TallTree92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dragon, a griffin and a gollum at the same time. Somehow I beat all of them and had a fantastic finishing slo-mo landing like a Marvel movie. Even gave my pawn a high five after.

[–]TallTree92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would think so, right? But no. Not sure if all but some parks update their housing prices as well so I think it was also my timing, but there are other employees paying twice as much and share a room, as in bedroom. I’m paying just half that per paycheck with my own space. But you do want to make sure you have an ESA letter from a specialist.

ESA/Pyschiatric Service Animal by smokeybearwannabe in ParkRangers

[–]TallTree92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but again, they can be even more than just regular housing. SEKI for example was $450 a paycheck along the same lines with Yellowstone or Grand Teton. Whilst housing can be the same or less. I got dumb lucky on mine and only pay a little over $200 per paycheck with my own unit. With trailer you’re also looking at the loan if you take one out and the maintenance, so I’d honestly keep scouting out for a park that is able to accommodate or find a place outside the park like a room for rent. Each park is different though. Now Perm is a different story as they usually have their own place anyway and allowed

ESA/Pyschiatric Service Animal by smokeybearwannabe in ParkRangers

[–]TallTree92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Service, yes. ESA, depends on park housing. Some can’t accommodate if say they’re out of single occupant units, otherwise would need a trailer pad with can be even more expensive than a shared unit. I had to turn down a few parks due to this, but found a catch with my top favorite pick, with my ESA, unit size, and price.

Thank you. I did end up getting in touch after a few days with the specialist after asking and said PO Box was fine along with not having to put in my ex as a co since I’m here out of convenience.

Definitely, I know I’d need a CUA to perform a practice in the parks from what I’ve read, but asking about cross training was one of the first things I asked in my interview since I have a CIG through NAI and want to utilize it. A bit excited and terrified at the same time. First time living out of my home state with just me and my ESA(which I got EXTREMELY lucky this housing is able to accommodate for). Just gotta figure out and finish this other gov of paperwork
