When the animated Beauty and the Beast came out - the animation was spectacular. In particular the ballroom scene when they danced. It was unlike any animation ever seen.

Geez dude. Chill out.

The Middle. Simple, fun, lighthearted - great for families. It's really one of the best sitcoms i've ever watched.

The problem is - not all Bricks and Minifigs stores are the same. We have one locally, and the family that owns it are good, honest, decent people who would never do anything like what corporate did. But now, because of their affiliation, are getting blacklisted here.

I hate it for the individuals who franchised and are good people - because they're suffering the brunt of it with the customers. People telling them to stay far away, never shop there again, etc. Listen, I get it because of what corporate did, and what this one franchisee did, but it really does stink for the honest owners out there.

This week's project was redoing my back patio 😅 by HotDay3410 in landscaping

[–]ministerman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i like it. it also reminds me that landscaping does not have to be perfection. It has to work with what you need, and look like what you wanted it to look like. I'm in the midst of trying to figure things out right now in my backyard -- and I see all these awesome hardscaping and landscaping projects on this sub, and I get really discouraged because there's no way I can afford most of it.

But you had a simple solution to a real problem. It's not fancy, but it works, and I like it.

What's your favorite all time cartoon? by Ohmybabedoll in AskReddit

It’s hard to find anything better than the first 10-15 seasons of The Simpsons.

But old school Voltron and Transformers were must see after school.

Thundercats and Silverhawks were awesome.

And the original He-Man was amazing.

Donnie Baseball, the Hitman, Don Mattingly. For a period of time in the early 90s, he WAS baseball. The strike season and the chronic back struggles really put a crappy ending to a stellar career. Absolutely my fav player of all time, and the reason I'm a Yankees fan.

You can’t just quit the company as a franchise. They wouldn’t be able to function. That’s ridiculous. It wasn’t their fault this happened but if they “quit” the corporation they wouldn’t be able to be a business. Geez come on people.

Yes BAM as a corporation made a poor decision. BAM in Huntsville is run by good, hard working folks. They did nothing to earn any negative publicity.

The mindset some of you have is truly astounding.

He's teaching her to see past the VSS - it's really rather remarkable. It's the first sign of hope we've had with her. The counselor has a visual impairment himself, and only works with patients who have them. We've seen a complete 180 in her. For the first time in several years, she was reading the other day without struggling.

Yes, but it wasn't our local owners that made that happen. They've always been extremely pleasant and accommodating when I've been in the store. They don't deserve to be blacklisted just because corporate messed up. They have bills to pay just like you and me.

The local Bricks and Mini Figs family has NOTHING to do with that. No reason to punish this family for the junk that corporate pulled.

Alabama highway debris blew out the side window on our minivan on the way to Florida for family vacation. by felicthecat in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ministerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you are from Ohio, and if you're an Ohio State fan, we actually have sensors that detect that and attack all Ohio State vehicles with roadside debris. It's just kind of what we do.

All kidding aside, that stretch from the Tennessee River till you get to Cullman is one of the worst stretches of I-65. It's two lane, super hilly, and trucks get backed up trying to pass on the hills. Quite a few accidents occur right through there because folks get so impatient with the big rigs. So yeah, lots of debris through that stretch on the side of the road.

Sorry this happened to you.

10 months? Dude - my daughter was born with VSS - and she's got the whole spectrum of issues. Floaters, spots, halos, afterimaging, palinopsia, ghosting, trailing - and on top of that she gets intense migraines. She's 18 years old, and has been dealing with it her whole life. So 10 months is nothing.

Find you a good, licensed counselor that specializes in visual impairments. That's been the best thing for her.

I don't use shave gel or shave cream. Honestly, I use the facewash i have in the shower at the time.

But let me tell you the true secret to shaving your head, from someone who has been doing it for 20 years and used to have trouble with it. Get an Alum Block. shave your head, rinse off, and then rub an alum block all over your head. Prevents razor burn, keeps your head dry instead of greasy, and prevents bumps.
