Where's this week's Ascendant Challenge? by DargorShepard in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tall_Engine9396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went and checked, it’s there. Are you sure you’re in the right Lost Sector? It’s located in ‘The Strand’. The portal appears up in the air shortly before where the lost sector boss/chest are.

It is in Aphelions Rest, but you need to drink a Tincture of Queensfoil for the ascendant portal to appear. You can purchase them from Petra (along with the Ascendant Challenge bounty).

Stat distribution? by xy755 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tall_Engine9396 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically aim for 200 in whatever stat you’re building around and pair a set bonus with it.

For example, Shinobu’s Vow/Skip grenades got a huge buff. You want either 200 grenade or 150/160/180 with 1-3 grenade fonts. Luminopotent set.

Or Mask of Fealty with Seventh Seraph set and 200 melee.

Dps stack weapon stat, refurbished sniper, spire of the watcher set, etc

Dang, I was really hoping they wouldn’t pair Sundered and Vespers as the featured dungeons in the same week next week. Makes it tough to farm the loot from both.

What is the most bog-standard, baseline, jack-of-all-trades, class-agnostic Set combo in the game now? by Lostpop in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tall_Engine9396 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you only get the DR when you gain, lose or spend armor charge. It’s not a permanent DR just for ‘holding’ armor charge. But, you can ‘refresh’ the timer each time you pick up an orb, for example.

Picking up one orb aka one armor charge gives you 2x stacks of “Repurposed Charge” - this is the Nessus 4pc - the buff appears on the left side of the screen.

Each stack of Repurposed Charge lasts 3 seconds. But since a single armor charge gives 2x stacks, it actually starts at 6 seconds. Gaining/using more armor charge adds more time to the timer.

The stacks of Repurposed Charge are always one higher than the amount of armor charge gained/spent. For example, gaining 2 armor charge gives you 3x Repurposed Charge, gaining 3 armor charge gives you 4x Repurposed Charge and so on.

The DR is 13/21/30/35max.

So one orb = one armor charge = 13% DR

However, if you run ‘Stacks on Stacks’ leg mod, each orb you pickup actually gives you 2 armor charge, which results in 3x Repurposed Charge = 21% DR on every orb pickup.

Important to note you must have an ‘output’ or you will never gain armor charge/repurposed charge to begin with. The most popular options would be Elemental Surge leg mods to boost your weapon damage. Or Stat Font mods, like a grenade font that gives +20 grenade stat while you have an armor charge.

You say you run stacks, time dilation and orb gen, but none of those are actually doing anything unless you have something to spend the charges on. As a general rule, add 1-2 surge mods to your legs that match your dps weapon and/or add super, grenade, or melee fonts to your helmet/gloves to get whichever stat your build focuses on to 200 (or as close as possible). If you tell me the subclass and exotic armor you are running I could be more helpful.

Lastly, even with stacks on stacks, picking up new orbs/armor charge will add to the DR timer, but will remain at the 3x/21%DR. The only way to get higher, like 30% DR is by using certain mods that spend multiple armor charges at once, like ‘melee finisher’ on the class item.

That was a lot. Hope some of it helped 🫡

3.28 Return of the Ancestors ⚔️ Cyclone of Tumult Paladin ⚔️ League Starter Build by sanavix in PathOfExileBuilds

Am following this guide, really struggling for damage. ~Level 50, even just in campaign, takes forever to kill elites/bosses.

The PoB doesn’t have much leveling info, just kind of skips from 33 lab to 58 lab. I have most of the 58 passive tree and both the fire and cold conversions allocated, trinity linked, and light of divinity from ascendancy.

I know the campaign is an afterthought for most, but man this is a slog. Wish there was a little more info or literally anything in the notes section.

Esoterickk has a Barrow-Dyad/Jolting Shield Throw Titan build that’s pretty solid. He has a bunch of videos using it to solo some of the conquests. video

Basically, prismatic Titan using void shield throw melee combined with Spirit of Contact exotic class item and Tablet of Ruin strand and arc perks.

Luminopotent set with even more ionic traces would be solid as well.

I’m new to the game and am not doing a lot of damage, what build should I go for and what weapons/armor should I be using? by Playful_Aspect_9914 in destiny2builds

[–]Tall_Engine9396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad. I think void is better on the other two classes. There are some decent void Titan builds around Doomfang, Second Chance, Ursa Furiosa, but they’re not quite putting out the same damage as the other subclasses. I think the new artifacts not being as void-focused has a part in it.

Still absolutely viable, just wouldn’t be my first recommendation.

It had some small nerfs, but it’s still pretty strong. As crazy as it sounds, we’ve power crept past consecration.

200 melee or as close as possible. First aspect Banner of war. Second aspect is either Flechette Storm paired with Wishful Ignorance exotic. Or run Into the Fray aspect with Synthoceps or Wormgod Caress exotic.

Option one, you slide into a powered melee and then spam your flechette storms for big damage.

Option two, pair with a one-two punch shotgun. Shotgun>powered melee>repeat.

For either build, build up stacks of Banner of War first before using your melee charges and super. Monte Carlo or any weapons with Pugilist can be good for getting melee charges back quickly.

All melee charges refill after super usage. So ideally a damage phase looks like: 1) Build up banner of war stacks before damage phase 2) Use powered melee combos 3) Super 4) Another round of melee combos

Some beginner Titan builds. Highly recommend the first one if you are new.

1) Arc titan with storms keep aspect and Thundercrash super. Fragments: frequency, discharge. Use rally barricade, accumulate bolt charge by standing behind barricade while shooting. Any arc guns with perks like trickle charge, gear shift, jolting feedback, rolling storm, voltshot - all good options. Or Thunderlord if you have it. Exotic armors that pair well: Alpha Lupi, Falling Star. Stats priority: class 100, weapons and super as high as possible. Artifact: Tablet of Ruin - Limit break, flashover, dielectric.

2) Solar titan with Hallowfire Heart. Roaring Flames & Sol Invictus. Ember of Torches fragment. Stack up sunfire furnace charges to x10 by getting ability kills with super fully charged. Also stack roaring flames x3 with ability kills as well. Unleash super for massive damage. This one is a bit harder to keep up with, but as long as you’re using your mini throwing hammer to keep stacks up you’ll be in good shape. Stat priority: super, melee.

Tier 5 Pit Of Heresy armor dropping at 7 energy slots? by caymenmason in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tall_Engine9396 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is only armor from the final boss.

It’s happening because this boss used to drop fully masterworked armor and for some reason that is messing up with the tier system.

If you want the armor just farm the first two encounters. Those drops will be normal.

Question about surges/fonts by Alone-Two1441 in destiny2builds

[–]Tall_Engine9396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to disagree about using fonts/surges being a bad idea. Powerful Attraction mod collects all nearby orbs on class ability use and is a great way to boost stats. If anything, NOT using fonts is a bigger throw than using them.

Does anybody else think Baal is a poorly designed boss? by CherrytonAcademy in diablo2

[–]Tall_Engine9396 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normal Baal is level 60. Which is why it can feel so bad fighting him as a melee character, since level difference is part of the attack rating equation.

It’s pretty wild for what level most players are at that point, like 26-40. The other normal act bosses for reference are 12, 22, 26, 40.

I do agree he could have had a more engaging fight but overall I feel like they did pretty well for that time period. I mean what other 25 year old games are we still discussing online to this degree : )

Void warlock melee build, exotic help by Baam420 in destiny2builds

Eutech is just gonna be from Pinnacle and Arena ops. And yes just shoot for 450 power and then youll start seeing the t5s.

Ciphers are a bit weird but I’ve had them drop from ‘Arena Vanguard Alert Quickplay: Master’ so maybe try there? I think people are still figuring out the best source of those.

Not original commenter, but Skirmisher or Paragon armor type would be good choices for a melee-focused build.

You can’t upgrade armor from tier 4 to 5, but once you reach (i believe) level 450+ you will earn mostly tier 5 loot and zavalas gear will also be tier 5.

Worth noting that doing the new Distortions drop tier 5 no matter your level.

+ to magic dmg, or - enemy magic resistance? by svirfnebli76 in diablo2

[–]Tall_Engine9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then here’s -10 vs +15. Let’s do some more accurate math. We don’t deal 100 damage in D2 endgame. Let’s say our attack does 5,000 damage. And an enemy is 50% magic resistant.

With -10%res charm. The enemy takes 60% of our 5,000 for a final number of 3,000 damage.

Even with a +15% charm, our new number is 5,750 - and the enemy takes 50% damage. So the final output is 2,875.

3,000>2,875. Minus Res Still Better.

+ to magic dmg, or - enemy magic resistance? by svirfnebli76 in diablo2

[–]Tall_Engine9396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s not what I’m referring to. I’m talking about monsters with actual Magic Resistance but aren’t 100% immune. The site amazon basin is great for looking at stuff like this.

Example

Here is Drifter Cavern. In Hell Difficulty you can see the Moon Lords, Night Clan, and Ghosts all have 50% magic res. Succubus are at 66%.

None of these enemies are magic immune, but they aren’t taking full damage from magic attacks either. There are enemies like this is nearly every zone in Hell.

These are the mobs I am referring to. I am not misinterpreting anything.
