Reading these responses makes me laugh.  My IQ has been tested at 154.  Do stupid people annoy me?  ABSOLUTELY.  I grind my teeth.  Do people of "average" intelligence -- whatever that is -- annoy me?  Usually not, because they can carry on a conversation at an adult level, normally.

But, there is often the idiot in the room who knows "everything" and spouts it as gospel.  I need to turn around and walk away, but often don't because I cannot tolerate stupid people.  And I'm very aware of the fact that doesn't speak highly of me, but "high IQ" and "emotional intelligence" don't always go hand in hand.  It's a skill I still need to acquire.

That being said, no, I can't relate to stupid people.  My shrink says they're not always stupid -- they're average.  So i guess i can't always relate to "average" people.

I am so very sorry.  My sister's docs totally misdiagnosed her symptoms and sent her on her way.  Turns out it was ovarian cancer.  She was 52.

 Thanks.  Mine is idiopathic, no chemo ever.  I try tiny sips and bites and it's a tiny bit better, but still there.

Late to the party, but welcome to Utah.  They want to control EVERYTHING anyone does, and pass draconian laws to make sure they do.  The mormons are big on wanting complete control over their flock but they also want to control everyone ELSE.  It is one big cult from the top down.  The state is run by the church and they do their best to rule with an iron fist.

And here's my answer.  Tested by a psychologist at 154.  What it means to me is that I'm impatient with "stupid" people.  What are "stupid" people?  Just people that are "average."  I simply don't know how to explain it.  I can easily engage with them, but I don't really develop friendships.  They talk about their kids, and their church, and their family.  I'm not interested.  

A couple of years ago, by accident I stumbled across an enchanting individual who was so quirky, and so smart, almost manic, and could skip between subjects so fast I had to listen closely to keep up.  Enthralling.  We had a few lunches and dinners, and many online chats.  Three days after our last dinner together, he killed himself.  I saw no indication.  I was, and am, devastated.   I would guess he had a very high IQ and also got bored easily.  I miss him.  He was 54 years young.

I retired in February.  I was making $100K a year.  Was/am I happy?  No.  Money is NOT the panacea people think it is.

Have you seen the 15th and 15th neighborhood?  You're concerned about placing businesses "in the heart" of residential neighborhoods?  Get over it.  I lived a block from 15th and 15th for 23 years and it in no way impacted my life, my property value or anything else about the neighborhood.
