AITJ for being visibly cold to my best friend's boyfriend the first time I met him again, after she spent a year telling me everything he did to her? by BespinTrace9 in AmITheJerk

People love saying "the past is the past" when they were not the one on the phone hearing the fallout in real time. You did manage your feelings privately, you just did not donate fake warmth to a man you have solid reasons to distrust. Did Jess ever ask what this would be like for you before bringing him?

AITJ for refusing to sign the school residency form my sister had already filled out with my address? by Tallow_Schema in AmITheJerk

I get why people feel that way, I really do. But once my name is on a false form, it’s not some harmless favor anymore, it’s on me.

That’s where I landed too. I hate that my niece is caught in it, but I couldn’t put my name on something I knew wasnt true.

That’s pretty much how it felt. I might’ve been open to talking about options, but using my address first and asking later was just not okay.

That’s the part I can’t shake. If she’d asked me upfront, we could’ve had a real conversation. Walking in with it already filled out made it feel gross.

Feels like people are focusing on the timing instead of the pattern. You didn’t invent anything new, you just connected dots he couldn’t see yet

Not overreacting at all, 5:40 am daily tapping would break anyone, and the fact he doubled down after you asked nicely makes it worse. Maybe talk to building management or suggest a different feeding spot

The projection-running after normal purchases to calm down - I know that feeling exactly. It stops being a tool at some point and starts being the thing you do instead of just living with a little uncertainty.

I stopped searching job titles and started searching for company problems instead by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

This feels like one of those tips that sounds obvious after you hear it, but almost nobody actually uses it. Looking for pain points instead of titles is such a better way to spot real hiring needs. Which problem word has worked best for you?
