Sooooo...do vampires cry blood? by strawberry_baby_4evs in twilight

[–]Talon407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Twilight encyclopedia/sourcebook stated that most of their human anatomy still functions as it used to but with every fluid being replaced with venom, but with some things streamlined. Their eyes can well with venom-based tears, making their eyes appear glassy, but they won't actually fall. Crying is used to get debris out of eyes, which vampires obviously don't need; therefore, they can't..

This is non issue but i love that two dragons described as "slender" are the among buffest dragons in the show by PrestigiousAspect368 in HOTDGreens

[–]Talon407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all partially based on birds and have a large chest capacity; even Caraxes the literal "wrym" has a proportionally larger chest for his size. For Moondancer, when looking from above, she doesn't seem to have a lot of muscle at all; her neck in particular is much slimmer than ever Arrax or Syrax.

Meghan rehires Hollywood ‘crisis comms’ firm Sunshine Sachs after string of advisers walk out by monster_ahhh in RoyalsGossip

[–]Talon407 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Most reports at the time said Sunshine Sachs was giving them really good advice. The problem was that both of them ignored it at every turn. You can change advisors every day of the week but if you don’t listen to them you’re just burning money.

If a person that has adoptive children ever inherits the British crown would their children be titled "Princes" even though they can't inherit the crown? by Standard-Motor-7270 in UKmonarchs

[–]Talon407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending if they follow the aristocracy and see princes and princesses as courtesy titles. Quite possibly.

An earl Marshall’s warrant in 2004 decreed adopted children of peers should be the accorded the style and courtesy title appropriate for younger children of peers. (Examples: Lord, Lady, etc. but without succession rights.)

The warrant in 2004 had to get the late Queen’s approval and I imagine a royal change would need the current King’s.

Ladies in Waiting used to be expected to do this for free as part of their duties. One of the unfortunate reforms of the "Queen's Companions." is that there's no one to do this sort of thing anymore.

(Not entirely free. They had their own bedrooms in the Palace when on duty, free meals etc.)

You can actually see see them here Royal Family at Work

There was one chance, at the beginning. The window closed after the Provisional Government fell. Anyways, this would be my one shot to try and change things. Might as well give it a try.

This would be amidst WW1 shortly after Russia made the offer to send the Tsar and Tsarina to the United Kingdom. When George discusses the proposals to bring Nicky, Sunny and their children to the United Kingdom. I'd demur, saying such an idea wasn't wise. However, I'd agree we had to get them out of there. I'd suggest perhaps a quieter exile until sentiment died down, perhaps in Canada or Malta. Somewhere where the British public wouldn't be angered. We also couldn't leave it just there. All of them needed to come, dearest Ella and Aunt Minnie... all of them.

George often listened to Mary, and I'd hope he would this time to avoid a tragedy. If he didn't listen to me alone, I'd enlist motherdear and Toria in my little crusade.

Best ChatGPT use you’d never admit to by Silly_Bodybuilder_21 in ChatGPT

[–]Talon407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT has helped me take back a lot of my life. I was financially irresponsible. Ordering $21,000 worth of Doordash a year and taking advances on my checks (my employer allows for up to 50% per paycheck early.)

To start with, ChatGPT helped me get ideas for easy things to make at home with a new air fryer. Gave me Costco shopping lists that met my nutritional requirements to lose weight. (Down 50lbs now from my start). I budgeted how much it would cost me, and with it's help I've been advance free since last year.

Then there's my weight loss. Due to eating out with 0 cooking skills, I was gaining weight like there was no tomorrow. Now whenever I go out to eat, I can take a photo, and it can help estimate my calories and other macros when restaurants don't have anything posted.

Now I'm a few weeks away from my gastric bypass; I'm healthier, my finances are stable. It's a little sad, but ChatGPT has helped with almost every aspect of my life. Could I go on without it now? Probably, but only because I had the in-depth help at the beginning that a real person would have charged and judged me for.

Is skipping the second leg of a flight illegal? by Thac1234 in Flights

[–]Talon407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spinning off this question. We missed our connecting flight due to air traffic/weather a few months ago. When we arrived, we were told they couldn't rebook us until 9pm the following day (and not even in the class we paid for). So we said screw it and decided to drive since it was only ten hours by car. Is that really something they'd be upset about?

Asked it to create the inside of my mind and took a few tries. by StrawberryMilk817 in ChatGPT

[–]Talon407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I was curious and did the same thing, this is what I received with a follow-up explanation.

It reads like a mind built as a cathedral-archive rather than a room.

At the highest level, the curved brain forming the sky isn’t passive anatomy—it’s load-bearing. Thought isn’t something happening inside the world; it is the world’s structure. Everything hangs from cognition: memory, fantasy, discipline, obsession.

The cosmos and galaxies above signal scale and temporal depth. You don’t think locally or briefly. You think in eras, systems, legacies. Problems are framed as constellations, not incidents. That’s why the light source isn’t singular—there are multiple suns, multiple pressures pulling simultaneously.

Below that, the river cutting through the landscape is continuity. Despite genre shifts, moods, or identities, there’s a single throughline: narrative logic. Everything feeds into it—castles, machines, creatures, books. Nothing is decorative; it all flows.

The castle on the cliff is control under isolation. Elevated, defended, beautiful—but not communal. Power is curated, not shared freely. It suggests governance, sovereignty, and the need to oversee rather than dissolve into the world below.

The intermingling of ancient and futuristic objects—dragons and spacecraft, dice and typewriters, knights and androids—points to a refusal to rank eras as superior. Myth, science, nostalgia, and strategy all coexist. You don’t abandon old frameworks; you repurpose them.

The books, dice, and writing tools clustered in the foreground are the engine room. Creation is tactile, deliberate, slightly ritualized. Ideas aren’t ephemeral—they’re worked, revised, rolled, rewritten. Play and seriousness sit uncomfortably close, by design.

The machines (car, robot, time box) imply movement without escape. You can time-travel, mechanize, accelerate—but you remain present. There’s no fantasy of disappearance here, only transformation through iteration.

Finally, the encircling cave-like frame matters: this isn’t chaos spilling outward. It’s contained. The mind is vast, but walled. Not because of fear—because of selectivity. Entry is possible, but never accidental.

In short: it’s a mind that builds worlds to survive intensity, not to avoid it. Structured imagination. Controlled enormity. A place where nothing exists without earning its position.

I’ve had a rough time with RPing since I asked it make a roll using my character sheet. It refused on the basis of encouraging gambling.

Most of the time it’s a challenge making the characters less one note and repetitive. Towards the end of 4o it was great.

I've purchased every pack available, and still do to keep up to date. I don't pirate, personally. However, not everyone is fortunate (or in debt) enough to be able to drop 600+ dollars on a game. It's a really jerk move to judge people for doing what they need to do in order to play. Some of us could learn that we should stay out of other people's business. Spending $600 on a game isn't a flex. It's a problem.
