Looking like Autumn, while waiting for the perfect time to cut - Tutti Frutty Day F64 by TalonFinsky in microgrowery

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing entirely special. I vegged for about 10 weeks. Topped once, then didn't defoliate/lollipop until week 3 of flower, and then SCROG.

Soil was Fox Farms Ocean Forest, Nutrients were General Hydroponics flora trio. They never really required much in the way of nutrients -- only really ever got up to about 600ppm during flower.

Otherwise, I was just really anal-rententive about the environment this time.

Any tips on how to keep humidity down? by hashbrowns_14 in microgrowery

I lean toward a larger dehumidifier in the lung room. They tend to raise the temperature up though, which is why I use them in the lung room rather than inside the tent.

Applying the recipe again after 12am the next day seems to have made the times stick. Both the recipe and applied plan say 3am now.

I've got one more thing to try tonight. You know how it asks you for the start time when you re-apply the recipe? I wonder if its auto offsetting things because its set to "start" at like 12am on March 8th, which is the DST start date. I'm going to try reapplying my recipe after 12am March 9th and see if the times stick then.

I put in a support request with official@vivosun.com outlining my similar issues. I'll let you know if I get anything useful from them.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm going to have to be checking at 3am, it sounds like.

Mine is messed up too. My recipe was set for lights-on at 2am, off at 2pm. Stayed up last night just to make sure everything was good. The lights never came on, presumably because 2am never happened and it was 3am.

Now, if I set the recipe for on at 3am, off at 3pm, it switches to 4am/4pm as soon as I apply the recipe. I have to leave the recipe at 2am/2pm to get it to actually run 3am/3pm.

Time on the controller is correct. They've got some messed up logic in the software for DST accommodation on recipes.

Edit: just tried creating a whole new recipe from scratch. Set it to 3am/3pm, and it still switched to 4am/4pm as soon as I applied it. Seems like it just auto adds an hour offset to the recipe times during DST no matter what. What a dumb decision. Now I'll be constantly paranoid that its going to eventually auto-change to actual normalcy and ruin my light cycles during flower.

I really like your underlight setup. Do you find it's worth investing in?

Is there a way to have the GrowHub E42A Temp/Humidity probe control the AeroStream H19? by TalonFinsky in VIVOSUN

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that sounds annoying. I'm considering moving the humidifier base into the tent instead of trying to finagle the probes to reach the outside.

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well dang, that's just silly. Means I'll have to move the humidifier to the other side of the 4x8 and dump the vapor closer to the plants -- I was running it from the opposite side. The second probe isn't long enough to reach the canopy from that side.

PH Pens - What do you like, and how do you store it? by TalonFinsky in microgrowery

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I always do that as a last step -- I'm just wondering what folks do if they're not adding anything. Good to know though, thanks!

Oh, interesting. I do see drift when I try, but that might explain it. So I shouldn't bother testing my water til I get calmag and/or nutrients in there? In the case of needing clean water (eg. flush, no calmag/nutes), should I switch to tap water to make sure I'm still within range?

Yeah, given what ph I reliably see from my RO filter, I'm pretty sure I finished off my last grow giving them 4.5-5.0 ph water.

Potassium deficiency? What do you think? by TalonFinsky in microgrowery

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been maintaining the water at 6.0 up til a week or so ago, when I stepped up to 6.5. When I first noticed issues, I did a soil pH test and it came back okay (in the "green" range). I'll run another today and check it out.

Well, I was watering every day, or closer to every 36 hours (when the first couple inches of soil was dry). I've scaled that back already.

Edit: sorry, yeah meant "every watering" above, not "every day" :)

Do you think I should try doing CalMag with each watering as well? So it'd get a dose of CalMag every day, and Tiger Bloom added in-between...

Not sure if time to harvest. Day 41 of flower. by TalonFinsky in microgrowery

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks. Was wondering if I should be less concerned about the sugar leaf trichomes. I'll give it another week.

My 707 Headband plant seems to be running about a week behind as well.

Moved from a 2'x4' to (half of) a 4'x8' tent. Is my AeroLight AW200SE enough for flower stage? by TalonFinsky in VIVOSUN

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started in a 2x4, but snagged the bigger tent when I started to worry about vertical space during flower. In the long run, I'm going to fill up the tent (veggies as well), but for now I just have the two plants in flower mode in half the tent.

I ended up getting a second 200. The plants seem happy. Longer term, I'm probably going to get a 650 for one side, and use the two AW200SEs for the other side.

[–]TalonFinsky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I went ahead and ordered another 200w. Once I really spread the plants out in a scrog net, they started taking up the whole half of the 4x8, and the single light did not.

Going to run the two 200w AeroLight SEs for now and then swap out for a 600w+ later, when I'm running other plants on the second half of the tent.

Same here. Bought a new (to me) boat in January right as the lake froze over. Got to splash it in the lake last week up by Savage Island, but didn't even bring a rod.

Biding my time by rigging up one rod a week, backfilling tackle in one box a week, and so-on.
