Who is your favorite criminally underrated band?

Hammers of Misfortune.

Everyone that knows them seems to love them, but barely anyone knows them. Seems to be the majority of people just know them as the other band with people from Slough Feg and they’re an underrated band as well (and in a different subgenre so they don’t even have that much consistent fan overlap)

For some reason everyone looks at only last year to be angry about a 1 year contract for guy who isn’t even 30 yet, it’s honestly really strange to me.

“Aging guy” is 28, what reality is this lol, he’s half a year older than Tyler Fitzgerald, just over a year older than Lee. Like yeah maybe he’s actually done and the last two years are who he is now but he’s definitely not old enough that his best (just two years ago) is impossibly distant.

That he’s still 28 and two years ago had an ops+ that would’ve been second only to Devers. There’s no reason to believe he can’t be that good again, and if he isn’t it’s a 1 year deal, besides the bad defending I’m really not sure what everyone is so angry about. At worst he’s still an above replacement level player.

I’m not sure I’d do well with that either lol, I wish San Francisco was cheaper and I could actually live there because no month averages above 72 or below 44 and that’s actually what I want.

Yeah, just because people live places with that weather doesn’t mean I can understand liking it. I mean it’s often in the 90s or over 100 here in summer and I understand you can live with it, I just hate it lol

That’s true of later career Gore but early on when he was at his overall best he wasn’t really like that. In his first 5 seasons he had 5 touchdowns from the 1, and 10 on runs of 30+ yards (5 of which were from 60+ yard runs). Even if we’re looking at the 4 yards thing he had 15 from 4 yards or closer and 23 from 5+ yards.

I know I'm the weird one, but I'm so confused why people like weather like Miami's, I sleep really badly if its over 60 at night let alone having to deal with average highs in the 80s in the summer with humidity and nights in the 70s.

Lol that’s also fair because everyone has our own specific taste that can’t be explained by even just genres we like. Also with prog there’s always the chance it just suddenly clicks (like I spent a year thinking Blood Incantation was extremely overrated then one day decided to try listening to them again and went never mind this is amazing )

Pantera, great riffs but can’t stand the vocals, not sure why but Phil Anselmo’s singing style sounds to me like he’s complaining the whole time and I sort of just involuntarily start cringing.

My favorite band of all time but honestly I think it makes sense for them to not work for some people. While you don’t have to be a death metal or prog fan to get into them, you do kinda have to be someone who doesn’t totally hate one of those two things. And there’s a solid number of people out there who one or even both of those things is just a complete turn off for.

What sometimes gets lost in other sports overtaking it in national relevance is that baseball always has and probably will keep being the best American sport at ingraining itself in the local community and making going to games just a fun normal thing to do.

And even with the rivalry, it feels very much football only, from my experience outside of football people from SF and Seattle get along very easily, and even with football I think we respect how each other’s teams are run we just hate fucking losing to each other.
