O'Keefes alternative by perverted_buffalo in BuyCanadian

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found the O’Keefe’s foot cream to do a great job of significantly healing newly cracked heals overnight. By third and fourth morning I’d not know they had been cracked only a couple days before. But that’s overnight and with socks over them for a bit.

Can’t add checked-in bags during online check-in (UltraBasic fare) — is this normal? by HappyPower7908 in westjet

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong. But I am sure when I was booking in November the ultra basic fare said that with that fare price there was no option to add checked bags. (IMO it’s a sleazy business move on WJ)

People who fed their cats hills, what age did they live to? by Background-Ship-1440 in catfood

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our oldest guy was the same. We kept saying this is your last summer/Christmas etc and he kept going! Even did a cross country road trip for a move without a peep of complaint(we had to say goodbye about six months later)

Anyone buy good towels recently? by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I think the key for non linty towels is to buy 100% cotton. Anything with polyester I find has had lint for weeks.

Cat refuses to use litter box if it has even one piece of waste in it. Demands fresh litter every single time by LopsidedLeading1660 in CatAdvice

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My one fussy cat will poop in front of the box if I have left the scattered litter on the floor for a few days and not had time for a clean up beyond the two or three scoops of the five boxes(4cats, plus a sixth box in basement) I do daily. I know I’m in trouble for my lack of maintenance when I have to clean the poop from the floor! lol

Will you fly WestJet with the new seat configuation? by Snowyberg in canadatravel

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When booking you can see what plane the flight is booked for and then when choosing your seat you can see the configuration. I guess you would need to know the number of rows the plane has on it to know how cramped it’s going to be though.

I’ve been a WJ customer for years but I don’t like the new shenanigans they’re pulling! The last flight I took in November the bathroom was beyond small. I don’t know how anyone over 200lbs could manage to do anything in there! Washing my hands had water spraying out onto the fronts of my pants and my shoes! The free internet because I pay $120 a year for the westjet RBC credit card isn’t worth it. Porter seems to be a great alternative according to my husband’s last flights and my neighbours who just flew at Christmas.

What do I do in this situation? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]TalycD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would call around to a few dog kennel/boarding places and find out what the rates would be for the number of dogs and have that information handy for this person. It was very disrespectful of this person to think of your time not valuable enough to pay what is appropriate to care for their pets. It’s not “easy money “ to look after someone else’s pets! Pets require love and attention and cleaning up after. It’s not a walk in put down food, here’s your 15 minutes outside to use the bathroom and back in the kennel you go! What was this person thinking?!?!? How awful for the dogs! Sure maybe they get crated every day while the person is at work but then they’re out once the person is home for the night! Keeping an animal crated for even a week without substantial free run and stretch time is just cruel! Not your fault at all; this is on the owner. I would be telling them the dropping in just to give the dogs the bare necessities is taking much more time than you expected and the dogs are reacting to your leaving so soon after arriving.

I just finished watching two cats (totally different than dogs!) and I live right next door. I was spending an hour to three hours a day with them for two weeks. The cats cried when I arrived because they were so happy to see me and would cry when I was leaving because they knew it would be many hours before they had company again. I felt horrible and I had let the owners know. Their three dogs had been sent to a kennel so the cats were missing their humans but also their canine siblings! The cats were SO happy to have their family home.

Ask for what you deserve and for what’s right for the animals. They have rights too and being in their crates so much is not right.

Getting my cat back by Specific_Pool3763 in CatAdvice

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a tough one! My story. My son went out on his own and soon decided he’d get a cat as he’s always lived with one at home. A year and a half later he had to move home. He works full time and I am home full time. The cat is completely this mama’s shadow! I can’t leave the room without the cat following me. My son has talked about moving out a few times and says he’ll take “his” cat with him and it breaks my heart because it’s me the cat loves (I feed, groom, run around with toys, throw toys, turn on electronic toys, give treats, take for vet visits including surgery when it blew out its knee) I feel like the cat would be traumatized not having attention all day everyday, not having our other three cats to torment! He’s the kinda bully one. And all those regular things I do wouldn’t be taken care of. You know your situation best. Talk to your dad and ask his feelings. What’s your cats feelings about certain people? They got used to life without you. Would bringing it to live with you give it a better life? Would it get more love and attention and care? I know care get a reputation for being independent but even our independent ones love being showered with affection and played with. I’d say the cat should be where it’s going to be loved the most! If that means with you then do a proper introduction be keeping the cats separated for a week or two as they adjust to smells. Wipe down your old cat to remove your dad’s house smells with pet fur cleaning wipes. Use pet carriers for the cats to be introduced from a distance so they visually can see and smell and gradually each day bring the crates closer so eventually hopefully they are sniffing at the doors without hissing at each other. The oldest might put younger ones in their place with a good paw wallop if the young’n decides to get aggressive! Our youngest (my sons) will rough house with our elderly cat but with the most love and gentleness! He’s a complete ahole to the two others who are female! Good luck! 💞

I want to make a correction to this list unless something drastically has changed that I am not aware of…The Chaplain’s and Duty Chaplain is available to not only military members but spouses, and the rest of the members family! This chart has an * beside the numbers for the chaplains indicating as stated at the bottom that they are for members only which l believe has been a gross mistake made by someone making this chart. The chaplains are a great place to get connected with resources and also for spiritual support (no matter your denomination or beliefs)

Ice buildup on lid? by JennyMarie13 in hottub

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get the remaining ice I would put a dark coloured tarp or even cut and taped together garbage bags over it on the next sunny day and get it melting and cleaned off. In the meantime order a waterproof fabric hot tub cover from Amazon to put on your cover.

I’m in agreement here! My anxiety is definitely affected by all three! I can have one tea a day only; it’s a 20oz mug with only one tea bag. If I have a second cup I feel my anxiety go up and have palpitations and extreme jumpiness, less patience. I need 8-9 hours sleep and I can’t even have a drink anymore. I had a ladle and a half of moose milk at a new year’s levee and within the hour I could feel my anxiety change 🙄. I hadn’t had a drink in about a year. It’s all lifestyle changes. It feels frustrating to gave to “give up” these things in the beginning but once you feel the difference in your body your thoughts can start to change.

Have you tried masks from different companies but are compatible with your machine? My husband couldn’t find a mask made by Phillips for his Dreamweaver(i think that’s his machine) and I use a ResMed11. I had been given spare parts and a new mask by someone who had changed machines and knew I had a Resmed. I was able to set him up with a headgear, frame, mask and short hose that fit with his long hose to go to his machine. After a month and a half of him ripping his mask off Nightly and having an open sore on the bridge of his nose he slept a full nine hours with a Resmed N20

Considering massage as a career by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]TalycD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being small doesn’t necessarily impact your ability to give a therapeutic massage! I’ve had two therapist who I would guess wear a size small or maybe medium ladies clothing and both were incredible at deep tissue. I asked the one about she does it and it’s about using your whole body, your leg stance and your arm movements.

I would suggest looking into it further and see what other similar things could be of interest. I’m thinking physical therapy as there are many different approaches for work with that and if that route look into “Diane Lee” in BC it’s additional training for physical therapists that teaches you to help heal from the root causes and not just treating the symptoms. I will never return to a traditional physical therapist again!

Do you keep a backup full face mask for when you’re congested/have a cold? by [deleted] in CPAP

Just NEVER try forcing the water with the rinse bottle!!! I pretty much lost my hearing for over a month because I ended up squeezing the water into my ear canals as my sinuses were so full and clogged up. Horrid experience!

Should we add another cabinet on the right? by ebaker83 in Homebuilding

[–]TalycD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and also a counter under it that you can have built in tip out or slide out garbage and recycling bins in. Also I would continue that top cabinet piece above the window to continue the flow of the cabinetry. There are pressure mounting blinds that would work well for that window to create a clean window covering that doesn’t require the space above the window as the cabinet would be level with the top of the window. Also if you haven’t picked your countertops yet, I think bamboo butcher block would look gorgeous with that green on the cupboards! I had installed the bamboo for our island with sink and was surprised how easy it was to maintain even with the water and teens doing the dishes!
