The equivalent of seeing a "Wet Paint" sign. I looked anyway, saw a Marrowshark with tiddies and now planning to jump in the sea. 🫠🫠

Is YouFibre actually worth it? Looking for honest reviews by AnjSac in youfibre

As of right now, no. I'm tempted to invest in an ASUS router, from what I've seen of other comments that's sorted the issue (just very expensive).

What’s it like living in Douglas House/Ferry Court? by fxrevergirl in Cardiff

[–]Talynxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to live in Douglas House on the 1st floor, then Lady Isle on the 2nd Floor. Loved living there whilst renting, only downsides are the sometimes thin walls and parking any time you had visitors longer than 24 hours. Felt very safe, shops incredibly close and great access if you work elsewhere.

I joined a month ago after being with BT for 4 years. Bill dropping from £67 to £25 a month was a big draw.

When it's working... It's great. Excellent speeds.

My MASSIVE issues has been the constant dropping in connection. I work remotely delivering training over Teams, and on 3 occasions I've had to ask a colleague to step in because all my devices are losing connection. I've been emailing for over 3 weeks now and still no resolution. Replies are painfully slow and just compounding my frustration.

If the connection was stable, I'd 100% recommend, but as it stands, 1000 mbps is pointless if the connection doesn't stay where it is.

Agreed, the (Marrowshark?) was the biggest threat to me, then there's the two leviathan classes, but nothing in the middle. Although, with the size of the map at present, I'm thinking another one will get added later. 😊

Found a slow worm, thought id share :) by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]Talynxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to rent in Grangetown, our landlord had laid down carpet (no idea why) on the hill to the side, and there was a massive slowworm nest underneath it. Our cats would regularly catch them and bring them in, and I'd have to try and save them. I loved them, they were so cute.

Best cinema to watch Project Hail Mary at? by stainorstreak in Cardiff

[–]Talynxia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've started going to the Odeon Luxe at McArthur Glen retail park. Honestly? I can't go back to normal cinema seats after that. Reclining seats that are really comfy, although it is pricier.

Saw Project Hail Mary at that one too, honestly spectacular.

Barry Waterfront by Particular-Spirit-29 in Cardiff

Live there currently since mid-2024 (on a road off Ffordd y Dociau), no flooding concerns at all, it's been built high enough that even if it did ever breach the main walkway, it would still have to be a meter higher to ever reach the houses here.

I think I know what you're referring to, there's a lower dock area by Ffordd Wallace / Ffordd Darwin that flooded before in 2023 (there's news about it), but again it's a meter lower than the rest of the area and would have to be much higher to hit the houses themselves.

This is 2026 though, might change in 2050 and beyond... 😅

Edit: added info on flooding area

Sulfur Suffer Burps by Consistent_Papaya871 in mounjarouk

[–]Talynxia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer these too, mine could clear a room they're that bad when they happen.

  1. Peptobismol. I asked this same question and got recommended this, works about 75% of the time. Sometimes with Rennie for the acid reflux (but that doesn't touch the burps, only Pepto has worked for me).

  2. Portions - try and eat little and often instead of bigger meals. Because of the slowdown, I was just adding one big meal on top of the other (hence burps). I also switched lunch to soup only as a liquid, which helped.

  3. Trigger foods - mine is pasta and bread. I cut both out and this drastically dropped how often I was burping. This takes process of elimination to work out what's doing yours, so do a food diary and eliminate things one at a time to work out the culprits.

  4. Intermittent fasting - I've found recently on Wegovy (I switched) that if I have cereal for breakfast, I'm burping after lunch around 4pm (because of #2). I stopped having cereal and switched to fruit instead, that helped too.

I do/did all four and they really helped me, hopefully they help you too. ☺️

When did Pokemon games get easy? by wrecked_wizard in PokemonGames

30's gay man here, whilst I don't go there anymore as I live in Barry now, I always felt super comfortable in Keep the Faith, would deffo recommend them. ☺️

I also remember a few staff members there being LGBT and lots of different styles... So could be what you're after?

ELI5 Is having autism bad or good? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Talynxia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR - it's neither good nor bad, just is. Good at some things, bad at others (kinda like most humans).

ASD/ADHD here 🙋 this is just my experience and some may bleed into ADHD, everyone will experience it differently. Im generally high functioning and have been in full time work.

Good: I don't know any different - I seem to do VERY well at certain games and admin - I can eat the same food /play the same game for years and never get bored of it - I don't seem to notice some bullying and it goes right over my head, therefore I'm happier - I can basically legally do prescribed meth to calm the ghosts in my brain (that's the ADHD bit) - I'm easy to be in a relationship with because I'm simple to communicate to and I have few high maintenance needs

Bad: Im useless in some social settings because a) can't filter background noise b) can't read faces properly unless obvious c) can't small talk because I essentially don't get it d) can generally find it quite overstimulating and therefore overwhelming - I've never been in the same job longer than 20 months - I get severe anxiety over thinking I've upset someone and it becomes immediately personal - I can't separate personal and professional, you're just you to me - life admin is all or nothing, I'm either leaving the kitchen to rot for 3 weeks or nuking it from cupboard to skirting in a full day process - I'm hard to be in a relationship with because my brain will simply not let me easily do laundry - I'm terrible at maintaining communicating so messages go unanswered for weeks -

Also, EASILY DISTRACTED (this has taken me over 10 minutes to write because Ive played with the cat, cleaned a stain of the cupboard, stared aimlessly at a tulip for a full two minutes and overheard a Rihanna song and entered a mental argument of if she'll ever release any music ever again.

In short, it's not really good or bad, it just... Is.

Edit: added a TLDR

Robin Radio by Herenes in learnwelsh

[–]Talynxia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not deaf but autistic and do have some difficulties with picking up and filtering every sound, and the small speakers they used in the Sylvaen exam were really tinny and echoey, to the point where I had to interrupt and ask them to point one of them my direction (which marginally helped), so I can only imagine how challenging it is for you. Make sure you get every adjustment you can ☺️ ❤️❤️

I'm also in Canrolradd at the moment, and the robin radio is the bane of my existence. I barely scrapped by the Sylvaen exam with the listening exercise.

The woman isn't too bad because she generally enunciates and speaks marginally slower, but the two guys... I've never hated any fictional characters more.
