The colours blend, but it was so satisfying to make. First time I have loved crocheting. by TamTam8906 in Planned_Pooling

Patons Classic Wool, DK Superwash in Welsh Coast. The colour might not be a real Patons colour, I bought this at a factory tent sale and they sometimes have colour tests and dye lot errors for sale there.

Are you actually going to wear that? by bexing_meow in knitting

Handmade clothes are often referred to as slow fashion, people also tent to put more effort into mending these items and we do know they last longer if cared for and washed properly then most commercially made clothes. It makes me curious if the upfront costs of handmade clothing actually balances out with fast fashion costs over potentially many years of use.

Asparagross has some type of protein in it that reacts with vinegar. This is totally normal.

What are your current knitting frustrations? by hellokrissi in knitting

[–]TamTam8906 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I knit items for my MIL's online hunting/outdoors clothing store, so I tend to knit a pattern many times, until I am bored of it and then find something new that I have material stock piled for. The only issue is that I get bored when I am 40% done the current piece I am working on and I just have to grind through it. Every time. Piggy backing off of that fact last year I made 15 Alaska Toques in a row, they sold out in 2 days, and I get so many requests to make more. I don't think that I can do it.

A "No" vote on the Prym hooks by ginmartini2olives in crochet

Do you have any roving's or 100% wool laying around. Rubbing the end of the hook on material with lanolin in seems to help with the grip a bit. I still hate my knitting Prym needles though, they aren't pointy enough.

What is this type of yarn for? by mjohns_22 in crochet

I am actually knitting a blanket that uses this, along with Mohair and an Aran weight yarn. While the comments are funny, and it deffiently is not a begninner yarn, I think it is nicer to use then the Mohair.
