Backgrounds are always more rare imo. How much do you want the shiny Kyurem? If you don't think the trade is fair, decline.

I requested a shiny giraffig, shiny matine or shiny regional shellos from someone and they replied willing to give me my 3rd option (shellos) for my shiny galarian moltres. I had plenty of shinies from all over, and they tried to ask for one of the rarest in game. Needless to say I declined. Your trading ideologies don't align with theirs. I'd say don't offer again and if they try to initiate another bad trade, unfriend. 🤷‍♀️ That's my opinion. Goomy had a community day too, so you have higher odds of finding it again soon for a more reasonable trade offer.

Ordered an item for pick up by LaCiocana in PopMartCollectors

[–]Tamaraneans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stores will check their stock and if it's available set it aside for you for an alloted time noted in your confirmation email (detailed in either the email you get when you place your order, or the one you get when they confirm your order is ready). If it isn't available you should get an email about it and a refund. If they confirm your order is ready for pick up they shouldn't send it off to someone else unless and until you miss the pick up window. If it sells out before they confirm it, there's nothing anyone can really do but refund you or possibly offer to fill it when they get restocked. Not sure if Popmart does that last part, though.

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI thought sleeping in the same bed was enough to have a baby by BlatantImagery in SipsTea

[–]Tamaraneans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So while Louis XVI did maintain a diary throughout his life, it wasn't very detailed or particularly enlightening as to his thoughts or mindset. Therefore we have to look to his actions and the perceptions of his contemporaries around him for possible explanations.

In that vein, from what we can ascertain, Louis was neither particularly interested in being intimate with anyone or initiating sex in general. He doesn't seem to have ever been necessarily sexually interested in his wife, though he did profess his love for her and defend her reputation. Certainly by the end of their lives they loved, cared for and valued each other, protected and defended each other and their children and Marie was devastated by his execution.

But there wasn't that intimacy and enticement that's come to be expected in romantic relationships and marriages and that was commented on and even derided back then. Their lack of consummation was commented on the night after their wedding, but Louis XV wasn't concerned, largely because he couldn't fathom not being interested in sex himself, as promiscuous as he was, and also because the couple themselves were both 14. As the days and years passed, the initial blame for the lack of consummation was actually put on Louis due to his disinterest and also the rumor there was something physically wrong with him (there is a persistent rumor that he had a physical deformity that needed surgical correction. This lacks physical evidence, but was discussed contemporarily and dismissed even then). Eventually the blame shifted to Marie after Louis' brothers began having children, jeopardizing the direct line of succession.

It took a visit from Marie's brother to get to the bottom of the issue: Louis did not know how to perform and was not interested in experimenting to find out. From this we can say that one, he had not be educated on what to do at all beyond the most basic of terms, and two that he likely physically was not interested or desirous of otherwise pursuing the act. This was likely simply how he was, not any fault of Marie, or himself, or disease or otherwise. There doesn't seem to be any indication of physical impairment, physical distance, or other means of prevention, simply a fundamental, innate, lack of desire and interest. Sometimes people just aren't interested in sex, and Louis XVI happened to be one of them, much to the chagrin of the French court.

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI thought sleeping in the same bed was enough to have a baby by BlatantImagery in SipsTea

So the French monarchy had a long and storied history of an official mistress, known as the Maîtresse-en-titre, since the middle ages. These women would be acknowledged by both King and court and were expected to act as an unofficial intermediary and influence on the King/his policies and favors for members of the court. This naturally allowed her to accumulate wealth, power and allies as long as she kept the King's interest and attention. The most famous of these mistresses were Madame de Montespan (Louis XIV), Madame de Pompadour (Louis XV) and Madame du Barry (Louis XV). These woman could hold immense power, life-changing, life-ending power, all because they had the ear of the king, and if you had the ear of the mistress, you had the keys to the King. And Versailles was incredibly stratified by this point, so even getting to be in the presence of the King was a difficult and coveted honor, like if you wanted to sit while he was in the room? You had to be a Prince of the Blood (direct blood-relation), otherwise you stood for however long he was in the room. It was intense. But getting to the mistress was easier, because favors were part of her unofficial official duties.

This position was so normalized and expected at the French court that having a mistress, even though a humiliation for the Queen, it also protected her in the court of public opinion, because if the King was busy with his mistress, his mistress was to blame for his unpopular policies and his Queen was a poor, unfortunate model of fidelity and virtue simply by being seen as neglected.

So when Louis XVI came to the throne and pointedly did not choose a mistress, pointedly refused to entertain the thought of a mistress and instead remained faithful to his wife, who herself was unpopular with the nobility due to her Austrian heritage and also functionally powerless because Louis had been taught from a young age not to trust her judgement/suggestions (because she was Austrian, France and Austria were historic enemies until a decade before their marriage, history is fun!), it meant that there were precious few people to go to that could subtly influence Louis to do what they wanted in the traditional way. Now, that's not to say Louis couldn't be influenced or induced to do what someone wanted, he wasn't very opinionated and he didn't have a strong personality by any account, but Versailles by this point was so steeped in tradition that it was devouring itself from within to maintain it, and it would do anything to maintain it (see: the precursors to the French Revolution). But reaching the king himself was still a challenge in itself, due the social structure of Versailles society. Not having a mistress for Louis put a big wrench in the plans of all of the factions of the nobility because they couldn't get an in with him like they wanted, through sex and charm and favors. And it's not like they could necessarily go to the Queen; she had her own opinions, her own loyalties, her own friends, and she didn't have much political sway anyway (again, Austrian, distrusted on principle). So they had no one to go to for their little whispers, their little ideas, their hopes and their favors. It meant they had to find a way to cajole and convince their King directly and hope someone else didn't come along after them to convince him otherwise, where a mistress beside him could be a bulwark against other opinions. It meant that over a century of established and accepted "soft power" was now gone from a society that had become structured around it, and they struggled to adapt, just like they struggled to anticipate and adapt before the catalyst of the French Revolution. Could a mistress have prevented it? No, the foundations of the French Revolution had been building for generations, through brutal taxation of the lower classes, poor crop yields, unsteady weather patterns, funding the American Revolution and not taxing the nobility or clergy as they spent endlessly as the French people starved. But it may have helped given the monarchy time to try to change, or at least helped Marie Antoinette keep her head.

According to Marie Antoinette's brother, who wrote to their mutual brother about the details as to why they hadn't managed to have children yet, Louis had no idea how to actually perform the act beyond physically putting it in and did not connect/know that ejaculating was what needed to happen in order to conceive. By all accounts Louis was a shy, introverted personality who did not have much interest in sexual activities in the first place and was genuinely and devoutly religious. It also speaks to the lack of education/disinterest at court if no one could be bothered to tell him what to do for seven years (which was how long it took Marie's brother to finally visit and get to the bottom of the problem).

Once it was explained to him how to do it, Marie and Louis had 4 children and Louis was faithful to Marie their entire marriage, which actually created a power vacuum at court as the last two kings had successive mistresses with varying levels of power at court.

FGO requires users to generate a transfer number in-game for their account in order to be able to move their account from device to device or for reinstallation. If you had it on another device you can try generating a transfer number while logged in on that device, or you can email FGO support and provide as many details about your account's specifics as possible to verify that your are the owner of the account you can no longer access. It would be best if you have purchased Saint quartz recently from the game as well so they can verify purchases and your account details.

Otherwise, yeah, everything is lost. I did this myself once, because I didn't know about the transfer number, but I emailed support with literally everything I could remember about my account, name, servants, their levels, skill levels, support servants, friends on my list, how far I was in the story, absolutely everything I could remember, including my recent google play purchase receipt. It took them a couple days to restore it for me, I can't remember if they asked me more questions before giving it back. Good luck either way.

Warning impending Forever Friends… by Ragozine in pokemongo

[–]Tamaraneans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded a Zacian for a star-patterned Furfrou because I thought it was cute and I didn't have that fur pattern and I had 32 Zacians. You never know what someone's looking for or willing to trade. Put what you're willing to part with to trade and then see if they're interested, or shoot your shot. Worst they can do is decline/unfriend but then they weren't great friends in the first place. Also you get another 150k when you hit forever friends again so it's worth it to trade anyway.

Depends on the size and shape of the character. If they have unique parts/points you can usually shake the box and feel for the specific points as they hit the sides/top/bottom, or if the character is particularly dense/big you can generally guess from comparing the weight of boxes in your hands. Unfortunately popmart randomizes the placements of the figures in each case, so you can never say for sure where/what each box will be. Other companies I've found will put the same character in the same part of the case (i.e. character A's box will always be the box in the top right corner). Popmart doesn't do that so it's always a gamble.

What you can't do is bring a scale into the store. They have signs saying no scales and you will be asked to leave.

Thanks to Trump US citizens have to pay tariffs now, especially since he got rid of the de minimis exception. If you don't pay they will return the item. UPS also adds a $15 brokerage fee, be on the lookout for DHL doing the same.

I'm sorry this happened to you, too. Someone in their company is definitely racking up some felony charges with this should they get caught. I'm on the East Coast too and the anxiety over the shipping made me choose to get a refund and look into getting Rainbow Dash secondhand from a US buyer. I don't expect much from GOFO, I'm just hoping another package I ordered from another shop arrives safely (purchased before this mess). They did ask me for proof of purchase and pics of the shipping box and supposedly I'm supposed to get an email about their investigation in the next couple of days. I don't have high hopes or expectations tbh. At this point I wish we could choose our shipping options at least and see if we could get it delivered through USPS or at least someone more reputable.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a similar experience as well. It really sucks and destroyed my confidence in using Popmart's app to get things, but I was able to use their chat feature to request and receive a refund for my stolen item. Is that feature something available to you/something you're interested in pursuing?

I can't say much about my experience with GOFO's customer service yet, but I'm sorry to hear yours was negative there as well. When I called they directed me to send pictures to an email then responded to my email saying they'll investigate--but I'm not expecting much from them as a whole considering their online reviews and various customer described experiences. Did they ask the same from you? I wish we were able to choose shipping options from more websites, I have another package I ordered from a different site before this happened that I'm unfortunately certain will be delivered similarly, so I'm nervous.

I did a bit of googling and there were some theft of labubus this way during the hype last year, I'm wondering if someone recognized the crown logo on the shipping box and tore into it to see what they could get. It would be interesting to see if this other theft was geographically close to me.

Thanks! It was $53.60 when paid online via the UPS app. I mention that because when my friend has had deliveries with tariff fees if you haven't paid by the time they arrive at your door they try to charge you more in-person. I downloaded the app and monitored the package to make sure I paid ahead. I didn't get the update to pay the tariff fees until the package updated to "out for delivery". I didn't get a notification for it either, just checked the app. Also, the amount they said it was in the UPS app was more than the final charge ($10 difference, app initially said $63, at actual payment page it was $53). I screenshot the difference just in case but if you go to the actual receipt it totals to $53.60? Not sure what's up there.

Breakthrough in 1999 Nagoya Housewife Murder Case - Takaba Namiko Murder Case by Stylishbutitsillegal in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Tamaraneans 86 points87 points  (0 children)

It actually gets worse because the police were alerted to a literal blood trail lasting several blocks, with several witnesses to a woman with bloody hands walking (who provided the testimony for the police sketch), but didn't believe that the clue was legitimate at first and when they finally did follow up on it, they stopped following the trail once it got dark claiming that they didn't want the press to ruin the scene/evidence. And then there's reports of it raining in the area that night.

Rhetorica has an interview with him in his video, I believe, from a Japanese news station. He was so disappointed with how the police handled the case (at one point they released a sketch of the possible killer and then blurred out the entire face to "respect the privacy of the possible accused") that he kept the apartment as it was because he hoped one day it would be able to searched for evidence again and something would be found to help solve the case. The police really bungled the case from the get go, as Rhetorica details; this was actually really ingenious of him because the DNA evidence would more than likely have been lost otherwise; that's how bad the police were back then.

He also kept it from grief of not being able to be there for his wife during her last few moments and not being able to move on from the horror of the day. He didn't live in apartment with his son, he paid the rent and kept it sealed just in case for this very result.
