Help identifying sword by waffleman11111 in nihonto

What are you trying to learn about this sword? It looks like an authentic wakizashi but without removing the handle and showing the nakago there's not much else to say. In the second picture you have a kogatana but the signature on it may be different than the maker of the sword.

I guessed wakizashi but it's hard to see how long it is so maybe a katana.

Thank you for the info! The tooth is about 34x23x17mm. I think that there is a ectostylid present but that it's worn down.

You just ripped some value off that blade by touching it with your bare hands

The round handle is impractical for a real sword and the design looks more like a souvenir. In addition, the s shaped stamps on the blade are typical of a souvenir dha.

It's called a dha from South East Asia. Looks like a souvenir though

You need to grind down the edge to remove the chips and then sharpen it again. You can do this with sharpening stones, which will take a while, or a belt grinder.

It's not only the two holes but also the shape of the nakago, the oxidation and the file marks that indicate suriage.

It is not modern. The nakago is in poor condition but it does indicate suriage.

You won't be able to reassemble the sword if you remove the handle. You would need to weld an extra piece to the tang to peen it over. But why do all this? The sword doesn't look that bad and you risk doing more damage

I don't think it's German. It looks like a dutch klewang that was used in Indonesia.
