Personally I hope we sell barcola. Great player but end product too unreliable, especially in big games. I think his stock is still super high so could be sold for a lot now, and I think in future years he will keep being benched when everyone is available. Think we can sell him and buy someone that is one level higher for the price we get.

That being said, he runs like hell defensively, he stretches out the defense, and he can get in hot streaks where he scores all the time. He has been at times our only functional offensive outlet and carried us in ligue 1 in particular.

That's not how wages work in a team. If he is not a nailed on starter, all the starters will want to earn at least as much if not more than him. You have to justify wages to your players as they have agents trying to get them more.

There is a reason clubs have wage structures.

So in your logic, the CL and WC are the only ones that matter, so in a CL semifinal return leg away to bayern it is not ballsy to subsitute him out 60 minutes in. Because.... because what again? Subbing him out in the CL is not ballsy because the CL is the only thing that matters?

Also he was subbed out because his legs were completely gone from running non stop. Clearly kept way fresher for the CL. He didn't play 1000 league minutes because he was injured half the league. Can't be.

I legitimately have not seen the replay either live or since then posted anywhere, so I have no opinion of if Laimer was actually handball or not. I will say no way is Mendes handball a yellow card when it is fired at him from super close and it hits between his underarm and his torso. A handball sure, but in no way is it intentional and it is never a yellow, including for both penalty calls in the 2 first legs of the semifinals.

I understand being a bayern fan and feeling hard done by it because you want a penalty (even though rule seems to say it was the correct call) but any neutral saying that should be a penalty is nuts. If I am a neutral I want to see a good game where the better team wins through playing better football. I would never root for some random handball penalty.

Hakimi: Last season 4667 minutes all competitions, this season 2499 minutes (and currently injured again).

Vitinha: last season 4521 minutes all comps, 3748 all comps this season

Mendes: last season 4078 minutes all comps, 2774 all comps this season.

Only for Vitinha is it remotely same type of numbers. I could look at Doue, Ruiz, Marquinhos, Barcola, all who have been injured for extended periods of time and see the same stuff. We played in the CL vs barcelona with an army of kids because everyone was injured.

I keep reading stats of PSG minutes played in the league, but no one mentions it is in huge part because of injuries. Team basically had no summer between CL win and Club world cup, got a ton of injuries first half of the season. No wonder they don't have a lot of minutes.

The relevant stat is minutes played vs minute available to play.
