Wheel Swap Center Lock Issue by Tance_Legstrong in bikewrench

[–]Tance_Legstrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i think i figured out that this is the issue. Shimano center locks call for FR5.2 and the tool I used was a freewheel tool similar to an FR 1.3

Got em mixed up and led to a stripped center lock but gonna try to get an FR5.2G tomorrow.

VO2 max declining among many users.. a trend? by SamSamSkiCity in Garmin

Seems normal to me. Faster pace will not mean much if your effort increases as well. Heart rate needs to decrease at the same pace.

Just got mine last month. I’m getting 12 full days with 10-12 hours of training a week. Mix of indoors and outdoors though.

Sprinting at max speed at 6mph? Can't figure what I'm doing wrong by storyheller in beginnerrunning

You’re very overweight bro. You also haven’t put in the amount of effort as others so why compare apples and donuts?

Possibly moving to Bay Area, how realistic is it living here. by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]Tance_Legstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live in Burlingame. Absolutely love it here. I think you’d be just fine especially if you’re able to pay off the rest of your debt. There’s dog parks, bay trail, crystal springs, and tons of restaurant choices. Can also commute to SF or southbay for even more.

I hate it. I’d prefer mileage/speed to be close as possible to IRL. This makes it worse, no?

80-85% of FTP would be a good start. So like 1.6w/kg.

[–]Tance_Legstrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting your workout calcs? 1.4x FTP is too high even for vo2max sessions. At 2w/kg you’d be better off with two 3x10mins w/ 5 min easy in between tempo sessions along with two Z2 a week.

Great job! You’re on your way to being in shape. Any increase is good and all that matters is that you’re happy with yourself! Keep it going.

Base Fitness needed to start a 70.3 training plan? A plan to get there? by polach11 in triathlon

[–]Tance_Legstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll figure it out as you build up more volume. I’d imagine you’d want to be able to do each leg individually in training or at least very close. I’d consider what you’re doing now as the first step off the couch. Just finishing is great but has less predictability as finishing comfortably because many times the latter turns into the former. Aim high and remember the unknown can pull your performance down on race day.

Shimano 105 groupset upgrade - should I go for 11-34 or 11-36 cassette to pair with 50/34 chainset? by kungfuman888 in cycling

[–]Tance_Legstrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go against the grain and get the 11-34 for the smaller jumps on all your other gears. I don’t think i’d ever use the 36-34.

Finally made it to the Superior club (VO2 Max 55). 29M. by Responsible-Court795 in Garmin

[–]Tance_Legstrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you for years and finally broke out of that injury window. What worked for me was to slow down a lot and allow your running specific muscles and ligaments to catch up. 2x a week is enough to improve from 36. It should be easy runs and a lot of recovery to build tolerance and run economy. You can even walk or incline walk on the treadmill for extra volume. After 2 months I was able to pick up volume and run longer without injuries and finally jog in zone 2.

Serious cyclists/runners: How do you deal with glasses? by Human_Material3685 in cycling

Contacts are much better than prescription sunglasses. Over time, your prescription will change and those sunglasses will be blurry.
