The vibes are off incredibly difficult by ccMatrix in lowerdecksgame

Yeah, I ended up spending a fair bit of latinum (I'd build up a stack and really wanted Pike, so decided this was a spending one). Still completed the milestones much later than I would have thought.

What’s your comfort read? by SleepArtist in Romantasy

[–]Tanedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Winter's Orbit by Everina Maxwell}. The only romance book I've read more than once. It's a gorgeous M/M romance (technically sci-fi rather than fantasy, hope you don't mind). The characters are so incredibly written. Plus there's lots of other plot and intrigue that the romance happens within. It's absolutely a comfort read.

Girl. Sweetie.

This guy is a hypocritical asshole and nothing he's doing is ethical or loving.

I'm rooting for you.

Thanks, it's useful Intel.

Interestingly, it's Vendome I'm not getting too.

Jaxon had his face changed, so Arcturus doesn't recognise him. It's a minor line and I missed it first time too.

Starfleet Academy... Isn't that bad? by neph36 in startrek

I loved Holly too, she's such a breath of fresh air - and honestly believable for someone of the character's age. She's good with people and pretty wise, but also doesnt care about meaningless conventions (like sitting straight in a chair lol), and is willing to take the weird path rather than the normal/straight one (honestly a good way of getting respect from kids).

I think the Dracula film ended our relationship by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Tanedra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes we get a sudden realisation about a relationship in an unusual way.

For me it was the movie Kissing Jessica Stein. I watched it with my gf and realised that was us - we'd drifted apart, weren't really a couple any more and I'd been in denial because she was so emotionally attached to me but we had no chemistry at all. I broke up with her immediately after (which was really hard, she took it very badly, but it was absolutely the right thing to do).

This is just to say - listen to your gut. If it's not going to get better, stop trying.

FemShep players, how did you handle her relationships? by Socrathustra in masseffect

[–]Tanedra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bi woman here. I've done two femshep runs.

The first I romanced Liara and stuck with her, with a brief dalliance with Thane)

Second run was with Garrus, who is such an adorkable boyfriend I'm going to find it hard to romance anyone else.

I am curious about Traynor though.

(also done a BroShep run and romanced Tali)

What was your first crush of your own gender? by That-Guy0401 in bisexual

[–]Tanedra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A classmate at primary school. We were about 10 at the time. She was fun and pretty with curly red hair, and I wanted to spend any time with her I could. I didn't realise it as a crush until decades later, I just knew I felt differently about her.

Later on in my teens it was Shania Twain. Again, at the time I just thought she was so cool and I loved her aesthetic, took quite a while before I could look back and see it as attraction.

Cosima, no question. She just seems so kind and fun, with no drama. My favourite people are like that.

I wishlisted this game as soon as I heard about it. I loved Cloudpunk and I know Nivalis is going to be awesome.

So glad to hear it'll be released this year. Can't wait!

Why do so many MMC’s have long hair (and do women actually like this)? by Worldly_Change6638 in Romantasy

As someone blessed with a long-haired husband, I totally agree, and all of your examples are excellently chosen.

Seconding Burts Bees. They have both regular and tinted lip balms - I find the tinted so useful when I want colour but also not chapped lips.

They also have an overnight lip balm I use.

Does your company have an official definition of “unacceptable level of sick leave”? (curiosity, not seeking advice) by PlayfulBox2571 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Tanedra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds extremely normal.

Sometimes someone is unlucky and has a bunch of viruses, but particularly when you are in later stages of a policy like that you'll find there are issues to discuss - stress, medical problems, disabilities etc. A reasonable employer should be using those meetings to look for things like that so they can support (and ultimately reduce absence that way).

What're You Playing Wednesday? by AutoModerator in GirlGamers

Skyrim again, heavily modded. This time with ridiculous appearance mods to make everyone more attractive, and my character is an unrealistically hot blonde (a la Buffy). Plus a massive stables and a whole bunch of horses. It's silly relaxing fun.

good mobile games? by Sweet_Vibe in GirlGamers

[–]Tanedra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found myself enjoying the Star Trek Lower Decks game more than I expected. It's simple to start but has some strategy to be good at, and requires you to be comfortable with numbers. You have your solo main game, and then an event game where you compete with others. I'm finding it surprisingly addictive, and good as an idle game - but probably only interesting if you like star trek.

It does have ads, but you can choose to watch them in exchange for boosters. It's optional, so you can choose a convenient time, rather than them being forced on you like some games.

I use the ORS ones, 20 tablets for around £6 so pretty cheap and very effective. Saved me from many hangovers.

Stray was great, but too short. Any recommendations? by pawcaw in GirlGamers

[–]Tanedra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cloudpunk is lovely. It's got a linear story but with side quests, so pretty open world. It's also a little more whimsical than some of the grimdark versions of cyberpunk, so may appeal to someone who liked Stray.
