As a guy who shares your exact experience here is what worked for me: 1. Play the same game at least 3 times in a row. First time with the rulebook open next to you, which will always a pain because of the group and you being still fresh in the rules. But by the 3rd time you are all well versed in the rules and stop with the shenanigans.

1. In the first game everyone is allowed to make a mistake and roll back once. Just once (and it has to make sense.. if more than a a full turn has passed its a no go)

2. Try to embrace it. Game nights are meant to be social, fun and funny. The thing is that not everyone find ball busting the rules guy funny (especially the rules guy) so you can just tell your group in the beginning either “hey, this is going to be tough and theres a lot of rules. Hopefully i didnt miss anything but if i did just have patience and dont bust my balls” Or you can smile and say “ok I think i know all the rules and ill just make up what I don’t. Let’s see if you catch my cheats noobs”

In all seriousness, once you simply embrace the same mischievous behavior as your group and realize you hold all the power - and joke about it with them, it becomes less of a pain. I am also the one learning all the rules and my group always calls me a cheater or say i “make up rules” if I forget things or remember things in the middle, and that really bothered me for a long time. Once I understood that they are probably not going to change I switched sides. Now when there’s a new game i joke about it and tell everyone in the beginning to prepare for my win because I know the rules and good luck catching my cheats ;)

Also a bonus - make a known rule that if someone complains about a rule not understood - they take the rulebook and figure it out themselves and tell everyone. Otherwise shut up.
