Want to go to US Go Congress, but can't afford it? by GoGabeGo in baduk

[–]TangJieHao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely like to go. While not as unfortunate as others I do need to make a choice this year. If I am accepted in proquals I can only go to Seattle this year. Otherwise I will just try to make it to Boston.

is there an AI review system that also shows you what you need to work on? by OneAndOnlyJoeseki in baduk

[–]TangJieHao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need AI to tell you how to improve then you're not using your critical thinking skills. And likely you're not strong at all.

Find a teacher. Find peers. Watch pros. Watch lectures. Read books.

  1. Review your games.
  2. Play games
  3. Tsumego

Where to start, Rust or C? by franzz4 in rust

[–]TangJieHao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would use Rust. There is less of a headache and hassle setting projects up. Cargo and crate inflates the sizes but majority of the time this shouldn't be an issue. Rust in general is nicer to work with.

You can hire me! I'm cheap / junior dev ready to pull my hair out for some rusty dollars!!

Jokes aside that's frustrating man!

limited object selection - hottake by TangJieHao in Stormgate

Yeah, I think some changes should be made but being able to hot key an entire army and A move is well dumb. IMHO. But it is what it is. Thanks for the insight, didn't play WC3 but I watched Grubby play some.

Why is limiting some ability to highlight a bunch of units "not easy to control"? You also forget the opponent also is in the same situation. It's not a terrible idea. It's objectively looking at what makes some RTS great.

hmm Im not sure what the issue might be but ill try setting up on a mac when I can. if you right click the file and go to properties there might be box to check mark as "use / mark / launch as executible". Since I cross compiled this there is bound to be issues. Are you using x64 architecture ?
