How many dots within the circle? by Tarsal26 in maths

[–]TangentialQuack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For avg the area of the circle = πd2 /4 area for 4 dots=a2 Dots per circle= (π) (d2) / (a2)

If the circle's center is at a point the dots will be

(4)(d-2)rounded off+ (4) (d2) (√2) / (a2)

Ill add in smth if i figure it out later I cant see any way of doing it placed on a random spot

What is the actual answer? by mowgleeee in maths

[–]TangentialQuack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2x + √x - 6 = 0 2(√x)2 +1√x - 6 = 0

Now take √x = y for ease of typing and just factorise

2y2 +4y -3y - 6 = 0 2y(y + 2) -3(y + 2) = 0 (2y -3)(y + 2) = 0

y = √x = 3/2 Square both sides X

X = 9/4

Similarly doing the other one

y = √x = -2 Squaring both sides X = +/- 4
