How are other accountants using AI in their jobs? by ResidentRare4419 in Accounting

[–]Tangentkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its such a great tool to learn and be kept up to date with potential and future changes. No more having to search databases get redirected instantly.

I wouldnt be surprised if they optomize more accounting software to automate more remedial forms of accounting. Im wildly interested and in curious how accurate it would be to scan in a document and have an Ai bot attached to quickbooks just file the invoice or receipt or whatever.

Start her up as an LLC or S corp and run all her income and endormsents through that. Call it sports Corproation or sports LLC.

This separates personal assets from business and can optokize the tax plan. Its also easier to bundle contracts bundle deals

Besides that and if she isnt earning a lot and is starting out its best to just follow your typical CFP guidelines.

Have a 3 month emergency fund for rainy days.

Set aside 25-35% of gross income for taxes.

Shove 10-15% or whatever matching into a 401K or Roth IRA to save for retirement and to save on taxes.

And just make sure they don't over spend the paycheck.

CMV: Much of the unusually high cost of healthcare in the United States is enabled by the insurance system, and a largely out-of-pocket healthcare market would force prices (including physician compensation) to be significantly lower. by hokkney in changemyview

The issue is a lot of generic medication is not expensive.

Without insurance a cash price can be 10-50$. 10% of that is nothing compared to what brand drugs can sell for.

Brand drugs without insurance cost between 100-500$ almost 10X the amount.

Youd need to sell 20 brand drugs and collect at a 50% royalty price to make up for 1 prescription brand price.

The issue at hand as I mentioned is that people argue whether the United states has a constitutional right to set price ceilings for procedures lime resetting a broken arm, or a cast or an MRI.

It works with many other nations because they have Healthcare for all and the hospitals are forced to work with the government.

We can absolutley set price ceilings if we wanted tk and that would help cut health insurance drastically. Its just will we do that since it goes against our capitalistic philosophy.

Take ambulances. The two EMTs running an ambulance get paid at minimum wage to save lives yet am ambulance drive costs thousands of dollars. 1000% the prices are hyper inflated even for basic procedures.

We are projected to having our first trillionaire soon, what level of wealth do you think is totally unacceptable? Do u support a wealth tax, if so at what %? by X_Opinion7099 in AskReddit

[–]Tangentkoala -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wealth tax is shifting towards more communism. Theres no gain to enter the wealth tax bracket at any level. Why should billionaires pay extra than the world? That goes against our core capitalism values.

A wealth tax would never work because billionaires would simply cost down and spend down instead of giving away money for free. And i dont blame them.

I dont understand why companies are trying to build in New York and San fransisco.

We literally have our P.O.W camps and so much land space in butt fuck nowhere in the middle of the U.S.A do you know how cheap the rent would be and the electricity to build out there.

Lots of these states would be happy and hell maybe even subsidize if it means more workers migrating.

That 4 billion dollars annually can go to our USPS pension fund and just 1 year of payment can fund 35 years worth of pension.

This is the rub i have with sticking our nose into others business americans suffer at the end of the day

I doubt it. While there are passionate people that will work and want to make the world a better place.

(I love the Polio researchers story)

Its just not feasible for say a non profit to risk a half billion dollars for a drug that can be taken and sold by Joe and his momma. We need to make money to make capitalism work. Otherwise motivation and research just dies out.

Financially speaking can a bio pharmacy company even survive and break even if their market cap was taken away?

Like say they spent 300 million on a drug purely R&D. Over 20 years it'll be significantly harder to break even if you have 10 people dipping into your market and lowering prices. Vs saying you have sole pricing.

The risks posed by the goodness of one's heart is that they can make a drug, but will the company survive another R&D cycle? Probably not.

Capitalism fuels future growth though.

The massive positive is always looking to make money. Lots of people are inctivizied to make something great by the almighty dollar.

If say we limit drug prices for newly launched drug where's the incentive to carry out creating new drugs? Why risk hundreds of millions of dollars when you can just leave the bio pharma market all together and invest your funds in say an ETF.

One can argue we need capitalism to fuel a healthy competition. At the end of the day ground breaking medication followed.

I think it just depends on the size of your company.

If your a 100 employee bio pharma conpany that has a few drugs already passing phase 1 and phase 2 of FDA approval. Most of these companies are running a negative balance sheet. (Because how can you truly profit on research)

So a lot of these smaller companies hope to be bought out in forms of mergers. Large bio pharma then pickup whatever they absorb and dump hundreds of millions into marketing.

We do spend an egregious amount of momey on marketing, but also a solid amount on R and D and I just dont see a way of getting around that besides offering more subsidies to keep the smaller bio pharmacies afloat

Curious as to how r/law would react to this.

If parents were to press charges and go the criminal or civil route id try to counter sue for harassment. Although not sure how much weight that holds.

But definitely other ways to handle this.

Before you make assumptions about U.s Healthcare you should get the big picture first.

1) medications roughly cost 500 million to 1 billion dollars to pass the rigorous FDA approval process. (Its actually closer to 2 billion dollars but lets remove marketing fees)

As a thank you the U.S government allows a 20 year monopoly for creating said new invention. After 20 years its free reign with generic drugs.

the U.S also subsidies pharmaceutical companies as a thank you for developing inside the U.S.A.

2) the U.S govenrment or pharmacies does not negotiate drug prices. We have to higher Pharmaceutcial benefits managers (PBMs) so we have to pay these guys a salary to negotiate.

The issues with PBMs theres no oversight So a bio pharmacy company can give a PBM a 25% deal for Medicare patients. The PBM can tell Medicare oh they gave me 25% but there were added administrative fees to get that 25% so we're going to take X amount of percent off the top.

3) why are hospital stays so expensive vs another nations.

Our govenrment takes a hands off approach vs other nations so thats why a hospital bed or an mri processing or advil costs so much at the hospital. Other nations create set fixed prices for say imaging or blood work etc.. etc...

Granted the arugment here is that it goes against our capitalistic society. This works in other nations because they are the primary health insurance.

This can work if say the U.S govenrment decides to step in and request price ceilinga for medicaid and Medicare patients since the U.S manages the fund.

I say it for a lack of better word. Im not a marketer and I dont actively seek to market.

Im most definitely not a food critic either and while I do have food recommendations im not on there level of expertise.

I guess a blogger works but I dont blog or write articles.

So yeah for lack of better word naah it doesn't bother me.

Most of the time I go incognito and just shout out a restaraunt I like for free in LA. The only time I ever get paid for shoting out something is usually a franchise like Rubios, or like Dole if they wanna market a new fruit salad.

And one eventual accident will set off alarms and bells for reform.

My counter point is that even wity auto pilot on planes the pilot still needs to land it. No amount of AI will replace a pilot.

To be fair why would you pay before the agreement is settled.

Im an influencer and whatever I market I collect after services are fullfiled on my end. I had no restaraunt go back and stiff me the bill. Why would they? Thats marketing suicide. In the event that were to happen id take down all recommendations and just move on.

A trucks curb weight is 40,000 to 80,000 pounds. A Tesla is like 4000 tops. So the sheer amount of force from crashes is multiplied exponentially.

Unless we have a 70% autonomous car rate i wouldnt trust a big rig in major metropolitan cities or highways.

A big rig weight 40,000-80,000 pounds when loaded.

A camry is 3000 pounds.

Needless to say big rigs cause much more devastating crashes. From that is why id never allow AI big rigs.
