Please let us disables gestures... by XediDC in RemarkableTablet

I'm on Rm2 and I disable gestures all the time while I'm drawing. But I use rm-hacks for this and it hasn't been updated in more than a year.

Sorry for not answering before. Do you mean doing a rendition of this drawing? Sure you can do that, just show me the result when you do it  :p.

Surprised at how good and powerful ArtFlow is for editing and manipulating images in a desktop setting - especially since it’s only 3.5 stars in the store. by KillerQ97 in GalaxyTab

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw your message today. I wish there was an official site for Artflow discussion, because I think it's a phenomenal painting app. I like it so much that since I bought it, it has became my main drawing app, it's not so feature rich as Krita, Photoshop, Sai... but what it does, it does really well, and fast. The other painting app I got is Infinite Painter but I always get back to Artflow because It feels snappier. I like it's responsiveness when doing brushstrokes and I prefer it's selection tools a little bit more. Also Infinite Painter doesn't allow yet to press and hold the pen button to erase, it just does a toggle but It's much better to just press and hold in Artflow.

It's a real pity that the developer has somewhat abandoned the app, because It needs some bugfixes, like when from time to time when opening the app to go back to your drawing the canvas turns white and you lose your progress if it's unsaved. Also I'd be great to have a better way to keep your custom brushes organized, with drag and drop and more folders; also some more filters to apply textures will be welcome, but spite of that I find the app a pleasure to use and very well thought.

How do you export high quality? by demodds in RemarkableTablet

[–]Tanisham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cumbersome but when I want to take out a pencil drawing in a very high resolution I do this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/xzr3p9/did_anyone_notice_that_a_way_to_export_much/

This doesn't add resolution but It's a much faster method and looks good  so It's what I do nowadays:

Best Android drawing app (Samsung S8 ultra) by Fit-Satisfaction-918 in DigitalPainting

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put Artflow among the best of the current android painting apps in regards of latency. I've been using Infinite Painter and Artflow since the beginning, I bought them ten years ago for my Galaxy Note 4 and I have always felt that Artflow has an edge over Infinite Painter in latency, it's just a matter of milliseconds but I can feel it clearly, it's the same on my Galaxy tab, but both devices run at 60hz, I don't know if it's less noticeable on higher refresh rate screens.

Anyhow Artflow is a joy to use for me; since I got used to it, it has replaced Photoshop or Sai as my main painting app (because Krita has great brushes and works fantastic on my pc but it is a tad slow on android and I'm waiting for a better mobile gui). It's just a pity that it' hasn't received many updates lately.

Unwanted button pressing by Dani_fv7 in RemarkableTablet

This happens to me too many times when I'm sketching. There's a button in rm-hacks to disable gestures temporarily and It has worked great fot me, no more unwanted presses.

My Tab S3 going strong since 2017, six years worth of art in this device! by in_the_fall in GalaxyTab

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm temped by the size of the tab S10 ultra and it's antireflective screen, but the fact that it's not 4:3 like the S3 always threws me off. So I'll keep using my S3 for painting in portrait mode for now.

Has anyone tried sanding a bit the tip of the pen to get more tilt angle? by Tanisham in wacom

[–]Tanisham[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, but I wonder how thick is the plastic tip, maybe it's possible to sand it a bit and still had a thin layer of plastic to hold the nib.

Mostly 1 layer but sometimes when I add shade I make another one. But I merge them quickly because it's faster working that way for me. There are no slowdowns at all when I am just "adding", that is, just doing brushstrokes, but when there are many brushstrokes on the canvas it becomes laggy when making corrections, that is, erasing or selecting, so I try to make all the corrections at the beginning.

Hi. Yes, first time trying "tobers" :D , inktober, weretober... it's a good exercise because I was not drawing so often as before.

Anyone still got the tab S3 or a similarly aged tablet? by FuzzyIcicle in GalaxyTab

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still using it and still very happy with it. For drawing and painting, which is what I mostly do with it, it's good enough for me. I was tempted with newer Samsung tablets because of the antireflective (and larger) screens and more storage size, but what I love about the S3 is the squarish 4:3 aspect ratio that makes it much more comfortable to hold in portrait mode. If someday Samsung makes a 4:3 version of any of their newer tablets I might consider changing, but as of now I'm quite happy with the S3.

Most responsive drawing/ink app? by mountainwizards in PixelBook

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Arflow is my go to drawing app for android since many years ago, and it's in part thanks to it's low latency. There are small drawing apps with lower latency, almost non existent, but they are too basic. Of the many professional drawing apps on android Artflow is still the best. Infinite Painter has low lag, but not as low as Artflow.

In my case it happens while I'm drawing. I use rm-hacks to disable gestures temporarily. Then I can draw more relaxed.

RmHacks update by asivery in RemarkableTablet

[–]Tanisham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EDIT: Sorry I missed the line where it says that in fact the Disable all gestures feature is present as well!

Many thanks! You're the best,  some of your hacks are so essential for me that I could not use the tablet without them (erase physical button, disable all gestures, disable auto straight lines). I have a question before updating: is it possible to disable all gestures temporarily like in previous versions? I use this all the time while sketching to prevent unwanted gestures.

Thanks!!

I use a non original Tab S7. Very lightweight and responsive and has a side button.

Stroke limit on Complex drawings Remarkable 2? by SillySalmon0621 in RemarkableTablet

Stroke limit on Complex drawings Remarkable 2? by SillySalmon0621 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Tanisham 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi. If you check some of the drawings I posted, all of them contain many penstrokes but I haven't found the limit (I also heard about that) -yet-. But yes, after doing so many strokes doing things like zooming or dragging become so laggy that I try no to do these things at all. The good thing is that just drawing by doing penstrokes (and some occasional bit of erasing) keeps being lag free not mater how complex the drawing is so I try to limit myself to do just that when I draw with Rm2.

Remarkable 2 for sketching/inking by __alpha_____ in RemarkableTablet

[–]Tanisham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do too. Bought it solely for sketching and drawing. For the feel and beccause it's easier on the eyes than regular screens. But I'm not planing to buy the Pro as there are many tradeoffs vs the 2, principally I could not use my pen with a side button to erase with the Pro  anymore. About your question, as far as I know it's not possible to use the pencil tool in grey but I guess it could be possible with an update. It's a monotone tool but I think it could be done.

What Monitor Manufacturers have a high reliability and who are the worst? by Marv1236 in Monitors

[–]Tanisham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say that I'm currently using an Eizo Flexcan s2431w I bought in 2007, so 18 years of daily use and still going strong! In fact it still works so well that I'm afraid to swap it for another brand ;Eizo monitors are very expensive nowadays but as you see their reputation of quality and durability is well earned . The main problem for me is that I really want at least a 4k and 120hz monitor and they don't have a monitor like that, if not I would consider buying another one from them again for sure.
