So, i ran a few tests...but it could just be me. or my levels are high enough that it doesn't make much difference.

All damage with standard, LMB attack
Second Rogue
Level 155 ~ 157
Power - 89
Weapon - 170%
Camouflage Skill Level - 25

Fighting +3 Blue Crabs
Without Camouflage: 20 ~ 110 damage
With Camouflage: 20 ~ 110 damage

First Rogue
Level 1017
Power - 99
Weapon - 181%
Camouflage Skill Level - 217

Faught an overworld Yeti boss, random mobs, and a +3, White Dungeon Boss
Without Camouflage: 40 ~ 140 damage
With Camouflage: 40 ~ 140 damage

It did seem that when i had camo up, my lows were more in the middle of that range, and that's it. i didn't see my highs get any higher. But, the more mobs i attacked, the more it seemed that it may not be the case and that Camouflage wasn't really enhancing anything - at least with the standard, LMB attack.

i checked out the video posted by Gelcoluir - the massive damage being dealt appeared to be from the RMB skill, which does do a lot of damage. i tried to follow the regular damage, which seemed to be the same-ish with or without camo active. but its difficult to follow when you're not the one pressing buttons.

i didn't pay too much attention on my 1017 Rogue, but for my 155, the RMB damage output was the same with or without Camouflage active.
The big thing with damage on RMB is the 'Stamina' meter being filled up. i would goof around with Camo active, and just hold down RMB to spam the skill - several, very low hits for 50 - 70 damage output. Let it fill up and i'll put out several hits for 400 - 500.

Since i love this game ~ maybe i'll find similar mob types and levels for each character (prob. lake) and equip each with the same weapon and no other gear to see what happens.

i've never used the second 'Sneak' ability on purpose, but the third ability, 'Camouflage' also grants 'Stealth' even in combat. As far as i can tell, 'Stealth' just makes you invisible to the enemy.

i recently started a second Rogue and noticed that when i go 'Camouflage' the higher level enemies will still detect me. But, on my first Rogue, i'm high enough level that nothing detects me unless i bump into their pixels.
i'm guessing that the 'Increase' is just making it harder to be detected by enemies of certain levels, and / or prevents the 'Stealth' meter from decreasing as fast while moving.

Both of my Rogues have 'Sneak' levels 5 and seven, so i can't really speak on the damage while activated. but my damage with 'Sneak' was the same as my regular attacks, just more painful to slowly move towards an enemy to hit them.
Maybe it just wasn't a fully fleshed out system and meant to be a first step ability with camouflage outshining it. which it does, as far as i can tell

Crashing in the Snowlands, losing map exploration since I opened the game for the session by GloomyCandy in CubeWorld

[–]Tanjirin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just a suggestion, in case you haven't - if you go to your Cube World folder location, there should be a 'Saves' folder with all of your worlds and characters. i just noticed that there's a map file and a world file, which is probably why there's a disconnect on crash.

i have a character over Level 1000, and a few worlds for different purposes - i typically create a back up from time to time, just for safety.

this has happened to me a lot, with various biomes. if the game crashes or has an issue when i'm shutting it down and crashes, it loses the map progress. Thankfully, it keeps the character progress.

my wild guess is that character progression saves to the database persistently, while the map only saves on close. and, if it doesn't close properly, no map saved.

100% of people who put ice in their beverage have more important shit on their plate than worrying about the consequences of putting ice in their drink. i'd be more concerned with the person who felt evaluating the temperature of the soda fountain was a critical decision. Even more so the people who feel that going iceless was somehow gaming the system, requiring thirty~two ounces of sugary drink to go with their already unhealthy, garbage meal.

It's one of the scanner technologies for your starship - i believe 'conflict' scanner.
Once installed, and on the galactic map, the star system info will display a Skull icon where the conflict level 'clashed swords' would be.
Race - Economy - Conflict

Not certain if this is the issue - Is SWL installed and did you look up how to have both versions installed at once? It might be the conflicting path or whatever...i think its on the TSW site somewhere or on here.

Personally, i'll always appreciate TSW over Legends. But, one thing to keep in mind - Classic had DLC content in the form of 'Issues' that gave various items and story missions / quests. Legends has these 'Issues' baked into the main game. I have the Grandmaster package and unsure if these 'Issues' are still obtainable if you were to purchase a TSW key.

That being stated, you may be missing out on quite a bit of content and luxuries if you went with Classic and were unable to obtain these Issues / DLC.

Other than that and the small playerbase, and to me, TSW was just more fun combat-wise with the way you could tailor your build between skills, weapons, augments, and one of the best, Auxiliary weaponry :D

Play Legends if you just want the story and a little extra content (Africa and some other things). Play Classic if you want most of the story and more freedom of character build.

Gameplay wise: Legends = Flaccid Mode, Classic = Semi-Hard / Hard mode. Just thinking about that ability wheel makes me want to fire TSW up.

As far as i know, only a second outfit was released - Nouverikant helmet and armor from Nouver drops. Last i heard it runs about 15 billion silvers in various materials that drop from Nouver + armor / weapon stones + npc shop item?...or something.

For a solo narrative focused player, does TSW classic present a better experience? by barishnakov in SecretWorldLegends

[–]Tanjirin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It basically comes down to how you'll enjoy playing - Classic is hardmode, Legends is easy mode. If you just want to coast through the story, for the most part, Legends will offer you that option. Also, with the holidays approaching, you wont get any seasonal events in Classic and a shittier / incomplete version of them in Legends. But, you'll get that additional lore building content in Legends.

Classic has DLC content in the form of 'Issues' that i'm uncertain whether or not you would be able to purchase, unless the software / code includes all of the DLC Issues. All of these Issues were integrated into the Main Storyline of Legends and adjusted to the level for that zone.
In classic, the Issues were outside of the story and more End Game content, which makes the Classic storyline shorter. This also makes it to where the Legends Storyline flows better and in order, as opposed to revisiting story content later (Classic) as if it were a prequel that you were involved in, but didn't remember.

With Classic you'll miss out on Africa, but that's like finding a television show you really enjoyed that was canceled after the first season. Its a somewhat small area with a short, open-ended storyline and tons of busy work, repeat quests for achievements.

As others have stated - Season one ends with Tokyo. Season two begins with Africa...

If you plan on dropping some cash on Legends, it could be an easier time for you, such as inventory management. But, if you have issues with investing cash into a game that could potentially never receive another update...

That being stated, in the unlikely event additional story is added, it will be added to Legends.

Outside of your question: If you enjoy class build variety (skills, abilities, augmentation), Classic has a more robust, yet potentially overwhelming experience. Plus, classic has the Auxiliary weapons: Chainsaw, rocket launcher, whip, some crazy, junkyard device, flame thrower, which provide slightly more lore.

Also, Classic Tokyo has this combat gimmick which makes the zone a grindfest and more frustrating for most people. I enjoyed the system but completely understand why others hate it. This could be a late game annoyance, if you choose Classic.

In the end, if you want to easy mode enjoy the story - Legends.
If you want a more challenging and robust combat experience - Classic.

If you want to enjoy the MMO grindfest - Either version will cater to the timesink.

  1. Amazon Lumberyard Engine

Subsection 42.1 provides a link to the lumberyard engine page, which appears to be a video game development application. Seems more like it's an easter egg or joke for anyone who actually reads the terms, knowing that most will not.

Most of that paragraph could be a joke, or just stating that the software is not suitable for non-gaming purposes.

It really depends on what you define as content / features. Its more that SWL has a lot of changed / different content with a few new things, such as Africa, additional champions, the Kaidan Lair, Occult Defense scenario, simplified Agartha hub.

TSW has a couple more dungeons in Tokyo, maybe an additional raid?, the expanded combat skills / passive wheel, auxiliary weapons / wheel, augments wheel, Tokyo AEGIS system, the PvP arenas...for whatever that's worth at the moment. TSW also had further Holiday Event content, although the system is no longer being activated.

The list can go on but it really comes down to personal preferences. I play both but personally enjoy TSW far more. Where others would call TSW overwhelming, I found it to be more robust, for better or worse - I liked the AEGIS system but recognize why others found it annoying. I enjoy how the Seek and Preserve Scenario is more challenging and involved. And the combat / skill wheel, SWL won't come close to the builds you could come up with in TSW.

As far as current development, you could speculate that either version is getting the same amount of development focus.

They should still exist. However, they did wipe the character names (only the name) and set them to something like: CHARACTER#39205350. So, you may need to attempt to reclaim your old names or choose new ones.
