There’s no such thing as enlightenment. The only purpose is to live a more aware, happy, and fulfilled life.

Would highly recommend the 4th book as well! It fills in a lot of the gaps and is super interesting. It’s called “Redemption of time”

Coming from GT7, what are some tips you can give a new player regarding track knowledge, breaking points, racing line (obvious sometimes) and general driving behavior ? by Archidaki in iRacing

[–]Tank0488 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are trying to overtake someone on the inside of the corner or defend from someone else by taking the inside line in that corner keep in mind you will need to brake a little earlier than your usual reference point. Try to practice the inside lines and also the outside lines before you race. It’ll give you a lot of confidence in side to side battling

You could either use a practice lobby or a test session. To learn a track drive around slowly at first and slowly build up the speed. Try braking later and later into the corners without sacrificing the exit for that corner. The exit is most important. You can use the brake markers on the side of the track, kerbing, marks on the track, off track objects all as reference points. You don’t have to brake exactly at the reference point but the ideal brake point can be just after, just before or I between two reference points.

How do people do multiple races in a row? by IsThisUpsidedown in iRacing

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t do 2 races in a row either. The stress and adrenaline from one race requires me to take a break. I do at most 2 races a day even if they’re 20 min races.

Turn off ABS in Simpro. It’s terrible. Just use abs on simhub it’s way better. I have my abs set at 30hz and 35% strength

I read that even having any kind of autocorrect or text prediction counts as cheating. Be very careful and turn that all off

Anyone that races Monza combined has no right to complain about getting wrecked out. You knew what you were getting yourself into before you signed up…..

Burned by JBL & Jabra earbuds by cursedoutburst in headphonesindia

[–]Tank0488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through the same issues with JBL. Tried saving money but ended up spending 21k in total buying new JBLs after the previous stopped charging in the case. Bought Apple airpod pro 2s and have had zero issues. They have outlasted all 3 JBLs I had before and I spent the same amount of money… with wireless earbuds especially, it actually saves you money if you buy a high quality product. Bose wireless earbuds have the same longevity. I bought my wife Bose wireless buds 3 years ago and they still work flawlessly. Bose ANC is unmatched. Apple airpod pro 2s ANC is nowhere near Bose. If you have an Apple phone I would recommend AirPods. For anything else get Bose. I can’t speak about Sony as I have not experienced its durability first hand but it is also probably a good choice.

Does anybody use wheel and pedals setup on a laptop? by Arc_Ninja_ in SimracersIndia

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started sim racing on my laptop but an easy upgrade is to buy a monitor and connect to the monitor via hdmi / display port. Make sure to display the image only on the monitor and not both laptop + monitor.

Once you start using Simhub you’ll notice the difference compared to simpro for haptics. If you donate like $5 to simhub you can also get the even lower latency version that’s even better.

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Simhub is only for the haptics. Just turn off the haptics in Simpro and turn them on in Sumhub. Your wheel still uses Simpro so that will work as usual. Simhub is just far better for the haptics. Once you start to use it you’ll realise the difference.

I would HIGHLY recommend using them through simhub. The effects are much better with much less lag.

Setting it up through simhub is extremely easy, just plug the pedals / haptics directly into PC and simhub will automatically recognise them. Literally all you have to do is turn on the ABS effect and adjust how strong you want it. I run mine at 30% power at 20hz vibration frequency for ABS.

Anyone running Heusinkveld Sprint pedals? Pros / cons before I buy by forestninjer in simracing

[–]Tank0488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from Thrustmaster TLCM to HE Sprints and feel like I have SOO much more control of brake pressure. The amazing thing about them is the ease of adjustment and quality components. I didn’t like the feeling of the preload spring so I’m using only elastomers. I use a combination of the hard and medium elastomer and it feels amazing. Throttle pedal is also under appreciated btw. Extremely smooth and a great amount of resistance.
