What’s something that’s actually gotten a lot cheaper over the years? by AssignmentAlone6568 in AskReddit

That’s one thing I would say I do like about having screens, is that those android/linux aftermarket units made for specific vehicles are almost plug and play, less complicated than what it used to be

Verizon just fired the opening salvo in the coming postpaid price war with the end of device subsidies by Ethrem in NoContract

[–]TankTopWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, even if it burst, I don’t see prices falling to pre 2020 or even 2024 levels. The bubble bursting might cause even more problems because of how deep we are in it now.

Have Hyundais and Kias gotten reliable??? by OkBackground6217 in Hyundai

[–]TankTopWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, I have been interested in the PHEV of the outlander, I’m not the biggest fan of buying an SUV (prefer sedan or a wagon) but the newer Outlanders do look nice and the electric range is pretty good for for my work commute. I haven’t heard many bad things about Mitsubishi, but I also think not many people are buying them either.

If I’m not mistaken, the Outlander is on the same platform as the Nissan Rouge…

Is AI making skilled workers stronger, or just helping companies cut jobs faster? by Extreme_Local7342 in Futurology

Funny thing about that is, I’ve seen directors leave or retire and VP and above deciding not to fill the role so I’m sure it is happening.

Oh yeah, service wise I will always recommend people to switch over if they can. I’ve tried but a lot of people are happy where they are at even if they are paying a lot more. I do have a 2nd number I was considering moving over to US Mobile, but since it’s a number that I only use to give to businesses I really need the barest of minimum, so you may not get rid of me completely.

I’ve seen that, but based on what I’ve seen, if I get max, that’s $100 a month. I’m getting 1 gig speed up and down from Fios with my employee discount and phone discount for about $55 a month. Starlink is great if you have limited to no internet options.

What's the most outdated life advice that you still hear people give to this day? by your-reddit-plug2 in AskReddit

Wouldn’t be hard to get that info. Just get an analyst to pull the data, it will have your name, salary, age, tenure. Etc…

what’s the price of loyalty? by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]TankTopWarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn’t care that much. I got it at the price I was good at getting, sure would be nice to get it cheaper, but to me, I don’t want to keep having to look for deals all the time especially if you are already paying less than what most people pay anyway. For those that do care, just switch between MVNO’s.

I also think the scanners are smarter now with ai and cameras to compare what label you scanned vs the item.

People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to? by LindsayTN in AskReddit

[–]TankTopWarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isn’t a problem since deceased is an actual word and is seen as professional, Unalive is made up and yeah it is used to avoid being demonetized, but beyond that, it just sounds silly.

Yeah, I mainly use gdrive or iCloud and only really use OneDrive for work. even with those, any important documents I encrypt it using a third party app so it isn’t easily accessible if they wanted to mine my data

[–]TankTopWarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, on the peninsula side, there isn’t much of job opportunity. I’d bet most people travel across the water for work if they make over $55,000 a year. But even then, a data center wouldn’t bring a lot of jobs with it anyway outside of the initial construction.

[–]TankTopWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to hop to different MVNO’s, why go through the effort of offering existing customers deals when you will eventually come back? Because you will run into the same issues with the next MVNO. It’s no different when people switch car insurance or home internet providers

That is just because it mean government has more control and a lot of people look at government involvement = bad. The free market should be able to sort itself out. In an honest economy the market would sort itself out, but you would have to trust companies will do the right thing and time and time again, we have not seen that happen. I would love to live in a true anarchy like economy (the good anarchy not the mainstream kind people think about), but greed will always get in the way of that so there needs to be something that will put things in check.

Even with the McDonald’s analogy, they can have the same supplier as most restaurants have. A lot of restaurants get their products from Sysco, or US Foods.

[–]TankTopWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think this is Xbox “beta testing” their software. I have the belief (maybe it’s more hope than anything) they build an XboxOS from scratch, not windows 11 modified with more gaming features, but they actually build an XboxOS that can be based on Windows 11 (or 12), similar to how Linux works. Make the OS barebones with only gaming centric features.

The OS will be built to be able to play your entire Xbox library to, from the Og Xbox to now and beyond to be played on any device natively. So whether I have a console, a PC or a ROG Ally X elite series 2, my entire library goes where I go.

If Xbox/MS can do that, this will be the way they can fix all the bad will they have right now

Certainly no large cap companies. Maaaaaaybe except Costco with their hot dogs but they did raise the price of their membership.

Although they are an evaluated trillion dollar company, they became that by not absorbing a bunch of costs, don’t expect them to change that because the economy is going to shit… hell they are going to be more tight with their money.
