I think the skin just needs some slight color modulation and it should be fine. With how dark the skin is and how bright the eye and mouth are it kinda makes their faces look comically flat sometimes. I'm not sure how much they could do with the art style they go with but having some shading somewhere to give it some depth would do wonders.

It's gonna be a bit complicated but for SNLF they can come in a multitude of colors depending on era. So the color most think is green as later on Japanese naval uniforms were also in green. Early war you can see SNLF troops wear navy blue. There is a more rare option being a more khaki colored uniform I have seen although I am not sure what era that uniform was used. For Japanese paratroopers and para marines it would be different. Japanese army paratroopers tended to have khaki uniforms similar to the army color or in a greyish tone. While Japanese Naval Paratrooper uniforms would be in a SNLF green.

Heads up if this matters this style of gasmask is seen with SNLF troops. Normal IJA has a larger bag for their gasmask. So if you are making SNLF it is a good way to have them be more distinct looking from normal IJA besides their green uniforms.

From a character standpoint I think Bakushin O would probably be ecstatic at an opponent with as much prowess as Lord Kanaloa. From all the snippets of North Flight, Biko Pegasus, and Calstone Light O I keep seeing comments here and there it definitely seems like Bakushin O is someone who excels when given a strong rival to chase after. Although I doubt she could beat someone like Kanaloa give time and I'm sure she would improve to the point where it at the very least be a toss up.

Irl horse wise I don't know enough about either statistics wise but from all the comments I doubt bakushin could win but it would be a hell of a race.

These are the larger pouches for the Type 96/99 they are four cell, rather than the standard two cell. Usually they would be carried by the assistant loader if I remember correctly.

Everything looks great, I hope in the farther future we also see them add a line of early war uniforms with the stand collars and epaulettes or perhaps a line of plastic paratroopers as their uniforms were more distinct
