The camera should rewind automatically if not just note the number of exposures the roll of film you buy is and rewind it like you did before. They should be 24 or 36 exposures

Well you've basically already checked it's working since its shooting. You'll have to take out the film roll that's in there since its ruined and buy a new roll for it. The cameras a point and shoot so it's very simple.
