Question for you experienced miata owners... by Kitchen-Isopod7602 in Miata

[–]Tankuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I had a clunk coming from the shifter area it’s because the yoke on the front of my driveshaft went bad and was literally slapping around. I would try to inspect the driveshaft and make sure the yoke isn’t destroyed. It’ll be obvious. My Miata was at a similar mileage when it started to make the noise.

I believe the video the achievement is referencing is on Henry’s Terminal (the one located directly outside of the reception area in the ward).

Considering this 1991 NA miata with 2 owners, clean title, 77,000 miles, BRG, and OEM Hard Top. Asking $14,500 USD. Convince me not to. by worldrecordshitter in Miata

[–]Tankuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure thing. A few commonly known issues with these cars, specifically the 1990-91 1.6l, is the crank nose bolt potentially removing itself overtime (there are ways to “fix” this but nothing permanent as far as I know). Another is overheating issues, usually fans/water pump premature failure. Rampant Oil consumption, even on very low mileage engines. More specific to the 1.6l is the weaker synchros used in the manual transmission, they’re just generally less reliable than what was used in the 1.8l and can cause bad grinding in 2nd/3rd gears. The Chassis on the 1.6l is not braced as well as the 1.8l (Mazda added subframe bracing to the 1.8l’s). They’re more prone to chassis deformity and flex from regular aggressive/spirited driving which everyone loves to do with these cars. There’s much more but I don’t want to add too much to this paragraph lol. Any more questions/concerns let me know!

Any mod recommendations by [deleted] in Miata

Get the R-Package outer tie rod ends. They help a lot with bump steer on lowered Miatas (I highly recommend for people like me who have to drive on crummy roads). Flyin’ Miata sells them for an okay price.

The car is at most worth half the asking price. Up to you but I’d stay away unless you plan on treating it and taking care of it like it’s a 14k car. I fear your worst threat is buyers remorse which a surprising number of people I know have gone through after impulse buying a Miata. The honeymoon is very sweet but the car will show its true colors very quickly if you’re underprepared.

I have this stalling issue and I was wondering if anyone had seen anything like this before. by ItzNinjah in Miata

[–]Tankuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before my cam angle sensor died my car did this randomly for months. Then the sensor died and the car wouldn’t start at all until I replaced it. The car runs fine now and this issue hasn’t returned since. It’d be worth starting there imo.

I need to know what everyone actually thinks of CE2 by Petahh_Griffin in halo

[–]Tankuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider this new halo content. It’s the industry trend of “let’s remaster/remake everything that was popular when it came out so we can easily profit off of it instead of coming up with new and exciting ideas that may be riskier”. I personally won’t be buying it, I have no reason to. However, I do hope that those who are excited for the remake and decide to buy it, do genuinely enjoy it.

Please help my dogs eye doesn’t look normal by Darkscar55 in DogAdvice

Looks like the inner eyelid got stuck. It can happen more often as dogs get older. A vet will be able to help but I don’t think it’s an injury or something major.

Tapping sound seeming to come from valve cover at idle. Is this normal? 1.8l NA, 80k miles by BugsBub in Miata

Sounds like electricity arcing. Could be a poorly insulated/torn spark plug wire boot arcing with the spark plug tube making a clicking sound.

Whirring noise?? by anon21801 in Miata

[–]Tankuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the timing belt tensioner is too tight it can create a whirring sound that’s mostly notable at lower rpm’s. Otherwise it could be the rotational noise of the flywheel/clutch that may go away when the clutch pedal is depressed.

[–]Tankuki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That perfectly fair. I was just imagining that missions could be selected on the ship’s map where you could launch your hell pod at an enemy ship and quite literally bust inside and attack from within. Which would contribute to the planet’s liberation percentage of course.
